hell no I've been a Saints fan since 1970, hell I've picked them in the Superbowl in my own mind for 37 years.

this is the first year I can pick them publicly in a long time =), since the early 1990's. those Hebert, Hillard teams

should have won at least 1 SB, even ole Steve Young said he is still suprised to this day how good those Saints teams

were and never won more than they did.

Frib, you forget that Seattle was the first team in the past several years to even MAKE the playoffs the season after they lost the Super Bowl.

Also, The Bears were pretty much major injury free last year. That kind of luck usually doesn't happen two years in a row. The Bears are a good team, it just seems that they will have several of the bounces not go their way this year.

The Bears offense consists of an unproven RB and a very one dimensional passing game (run really fast downfield and hope Grossman can make the throw). They also were consistantly giving up 100+ yard rushing games to good backs last year and they face improved backfields in their division whilst going up against a very potent group of RBs in the AFC WEST. Archuleta is going to be a liablity against the passing game and with no marked improvements on either side of the ball I fail to see how the Bears can manage 10+ wins in a tougher division and with a tougher schedule.

In Green Bay, Favre is more of a liablity than an asset at this point. He'll lose games even when he isn't trying to make everything happen and the DEF has improved but hasn't shown that it can keep the team in a game when the offense stumbles.

Detroit is a risky pick but I like their hilarious passing game and the fact they face TB and STL instead of SEA and NO in their two swing games.

Are you serious? The Bears were without both Tommie Harris and Mike Brown for most of last season as well as losing Cedric Benson during the superbowl. Both Harris and Brown are big time players and will do nothing but improve that defense if they are 100%. Losing Tank will be a big hit as it was last time the Bears lost a good defensive lineman and Urlacher lost the guy in front of him.

As for them not making the playoffs ... they didn't just "win" some of those games last year they "beat" the other team and there is no one in their division that can compete with them. They need two wins at most outside of their division to make it back and I don't see any problem of them accomplishing that.

Baltimore has no one throwing the ball. They also have serious question marks at receiver, and their defense is aging. Tennessee, on the other hand, has the most explosive player in the NFL now that Vick's peaced out. Commentators are talking about a "sophomore slump," but he played more last year than most sophomores.

Anyways, that being said...

I think it'll be Chargers over 49ers this year. I'm in love with Alex Smith, but the Chargers are stacked this year like Indy was last year.
