I am in a 12 team league that plays defensive players. Here are the points awarded-

Tackle Solo (1)
Tackle Assist (0.5)
Sack (2)
Interception (3)
Fumble Force (2)
Fumble Recovery (3)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)
Pass Defended (1)
Block Kick (2)

Looks like we have six players total- two defensive players, two DB, and two DL. Rushing is 15 yards = 1 point, passing is 25 yards = 1 point.

For those of you who have been in a league that picks defensive players, two questions-

1. Are the above points typically the standard for defensive players? I noticed that the passing/rushing is not standard, so not sure if the defense points are as well.

2. Do defensive players even matter with the points? Or is it still your standard league where RB/QB/WR are the most important positions, in that order?

Thanks in advance!

IDP leagues suck.

That's pretty standard scoring, but I always thought it was a bit high. /shrug.
As far as drafting, get your IDPs before you get your kicker, but pretty much after anyone else. Drafting Urlacher is not going to win you the league, but some schmuck will take him ridiculously early like round 6 or 7 probably. It's like an exaggerated "Viniateri problem" where the fashionable name-recognition player at a low impact position goes far in advance of where anyone from that position should be drafted.

Also, for your format, try to draft 4 DB and just the two DL. Try to get safeties over cornerbacks, and DE's for your linemen. Interior defensive line is almost NEVER worth drafting.
