just how hot are the eagles?
can the cowboys fix their pass defense and can Romo be consistent?

AFC
Can the Colts stop LJ and have their offense on the field?
Can Mangenious do it again against the Patriots?

That thread is a contest. This thread is for discussion and possibly smack talk. Therefore they are not the same.

Seattle is my team, but even against Dallas, I don't think they will pass the first round of the playoffs. Dallas and Seattle will both play really shitty games against one another, but Dallas will be just a bit less shitty.

I think I covered part of this before:
Quote:
I was at that cowboys game and they looked HORRIBLE!

There was ZERO energy, ZERO passion, and ZERO want.

The Cowboys pass defense couldn't cover anyone and their offensive line couldn't block to save their lives.

Dallas is lucky to be in the playoffs. Seattle will score at least 40 on them.

Philly will beat the g-men (they have lost too many players, Eli has lost his moxie, and the Eagle D is swarming)

LJ will run for close to 200 yards against Indy. The only reason why he won't is because his backup will be in the game.

The Jets beat NE once this year. I don't see it happening again.

Seattle isn't going to score 40 on anybody. Their offense has definately taken a step back. I live here and like em well enough, but the only reason I see them making it out of the first round is because of the homefield advantage. Qwest field is tough to play in. Once they have to go on the road, they're done.

I was gonna post my picks in that contest thread...

Then I saw that people were picking Philly to be in the Super Bowl, and someone actually had them winning.

I laughed, then decided I couldn't even read the post anymore, let alone post in it.

I don't think Philly will make the Superbowl, but I'd love to be wrong! It's not a crazy stretch though, because the NFC is that bad. I doubt we would have even made the playoffs in the AFC. With that said, it's still possible a NFC team will win, just because anything can happen when it's only 1 game.

This is one of the most imbalanced years AFC vs NFC powerwise I can remember, though I do recall a time in the 90's when Dallas vs SanFran was basically a who was going to win the superbowl game.

philly is the 'nintendo wii' pick of the moment- extremely trendy, until you actually play with them, and then realize... eh, not *that* great. sure, they will win a game or two... but they are not super bowl great.

besides, most people see what pittsburgh did last year as the quote/unquote "hot team" and are comparing the two pennsylvania teams together. shrug. i am just happy that the lions beat dallas, that was the only highlight they had this year :)

Seattle lost all of their corner backs. That alone tells me that Dallas is going to cause a lot of problems down field for the 'hawks. As sub-par as they have been playing over the last month, in addition to the loss of their backs, I just don't have any confidence they will make it out of this wild card game alive.

Good if they do...but I don't have a lot of faith in their ability to win against Dallas right now, even though Dallas really isn't looking very good either.

Philly is Brian Westbrook. That's it. A slightly above average defense. Jeff Garcia is an 86.4 career quarterback who throws 1 interception for every 1.86 touchdowns.

They are 3-3 against playoff teams, and those three wins were against Dallas and New York...teams that barely squeaked into the playoffs to begin with.

They lost to New Orleans with McNabb, and now might have to face them with Garcia? Hell, even Chicago, with the worst quarterback in the playoffs ever, would probably beat them.

Philly will probably win round 1. Jerk off to that while you can.

That pretty much describes the entire NFC. Chicago's defense has been reduced to maybe above average, and there offense is shaky at best. New Orleans either seems to be really good or really mediocre at times. Philly has just as good of a chance as any other team in the NFC.

OMFG...OMFG...

That Seattle-Dallas game was fucking nuts! I honestly cannot believe Seattle won. My heart goes out to Romo; he blew it for Dallas with that bad hold for a field goal that I think would have won them the game. He nearly turned a bad hold into a touchdown...but 1-yard and an ankle tackle secured it for Seattle to win 21-20.

Simply an amazing fucking game and mind-blowingly insane last 2 minutes. My voice will be jacked for the next two days.

Unfortunately, Seattle doesn't stand a chance against Chicago. Regardless, I am pleased to see they beat Dallas and made it into the playoffs. I think the last time a Super Bowl loser made it to the playoffs the following year happened back in 2000...so that's pretty cool that they broke that streak.

While watching the game, I thought that Romo's fumble was caused by the ground as he stretched the ball past the first down marker, which would give Dallas the ball with a first down to eat the clock and kick the FG. Watching the replays confirmed in my mind that this was the case. I cant believe it wasnt even reviewed. Was an exciting game to watch.

Yup, if Romo had held on to the ball, he would have had a first down and the Cowboys more than likely would have won the game.

So, here is to fumbling the ball...twice...within 6 seconds. :)

I think I saw Romo cry after he fumbled that hold. Did you see him sitting there on the ground holding his head in disgrace.

There is a picture of him sitting on the ground holding on to his facemask as he is consoled by another teammate all over the internet.

After seeing the video over...and over...and over...Romo didn't make it to the 1-yard line. The ball got to the 2-yard line. So, even had he not fumbled, it would not have been a first down.

I still feel super bad for Romo. A situation like that has to be every athlete's nightmare. At least he has a hot ass girlfriend to console him. :p

Yep review Witten's catch and first down call by the referee running in from the sideline to place the ball at the first down marker, but no fucking review for the ball location on Romo's run attempt was horrible. Wether or not they would have ruled differently is of no matter, it's just motherfucking absurd that they never even paused to consider it. Of course to expect consistency by the officials in any game this season is to court madness.

As a 'Boys fan I'll be the first to say they had no business being in the playoffs the way they fell apart at the end of the season, and I would not have been suprised had they been blown out. However the defense did turn things around seemingly enough to get by this week (and potentially enough to handle Chicago if they lucked out with that draw for the following week) ...

I'm proud to see that Romo came on the press conference and accepted all blame for the loss even though there were enough other plays (cough motherfucking fumble for safety and scoring drive on the ensuing free kick, thank you Mr Glenn) ... Other teams this season have had guys tossing teamates under the bus with reckless abandon. I'm looking forward to next season with Bobby Carpenter starting games on the opposite end of the line as D Ware and even with Romo getting the bulk of the snaps throughout camps and preseason play, I won't shed a tear if either/both Parcells and TO do not return. As great a coach as Parcells has been, I think the game has passed him by the way it has Joe Gibbs if not as apparently. Leading the league in TD's was more a way to shut his pie hole than it was a way to win games for the 'Boys. Glenn, Crayton and Hurd combined with Witten, Fasano, Jones and Barber will be fine without TO and his train of baggage.

Why review the Romo play? It was obvious to anyone watching the game that he was well short (thanks to a brilliant tackle from behind).

Most of the blame falls on Romo's shoulders...but Grammatica should take a bit of the blame too. He should have blocked the guy that tackled Romo from the back. Instead, he just kinda stood there like, "Whoa, what the hell do I do?!" Had Grammatica even stood in the way and got mowed over, things would be very different for the Cowboys right now. That would have bought Romo that exta foot of running room he needed to get a 1st down...or even score.

Of course, this is all speculation. And, I can't say I am disappointed on how the game turned out as I am a 'hawks fan. :)

God damn...what a nail biter!

This weekend's playoff games have been the best consecutive set of 4 playoff games I've ever watched. The Colts - Ravens was kinda meh with nothing but fieldgoals, but the other three were all won by 3 points and came down to the last couple of minutes in the 4th quarter. Just fucking wow!

It's nice to see playoff games that aren't lopsided.
