At this point, all they are doing is tieing up traffic downtown on Sundays.

Well, us Ohioans still have OSU.. go bucks.

I really feel with a healthy offensive line, and.....Oh, bullshit. I don't fucking know what the hell our defenses problem is. I am hoping that they just ran into a superior team Sunday. Tough to play three of the toughest teams in the NFC and go 1 - 2. The two losses being by a total of 3 points.

Our ofensive line needs to get its stuff together come crunch time though. Watching them just get mauled those last couple plays.... 5 vs 3 and they couldn't stop Palmer from getting plowed at the end... That's complete bullshit, and just showed who wanted it more...

I dunno. Ocho Cinco was some funny shit, even though Palmer wasn't amused when he tore it off of his jersy haha....

I knew out of the gate this year Cinci wouldn’t be a super bowl team, but I didn’t think they would fall apart so soon.

bengals' next five games are all against teams that are currently 5-2, with the exception of the browns at 2-5. ouch. could possibly go 1-4 during that stretch.

but it is somewhat irrelevant now. chad johnson has re-established himself as one of my favorite players, simply for his talk. i mean come on, ocho cinco? and palmer's look on his face when he tore off the name from johnson's jersey?

priceless.

Yea, their schedule week in and week out is completely brutal. It isn't that they are falling apart, they are just having some MAJOR injury problems to key positions, and they are running into teams week in and week out that you can't have any mistakes against. Shitty, but that's how things work. They can beat any team int he NFL on any given day, moreso than a lot of NFL teams. I dunno. Rough stuff heh.

With that said, I still watch them and root them on every chance I get.

I have that game on the Sunday Ticket and I doze off with Cincy leading 21-7. I wake up and it is 42-38! Damn I am going to have to catch that one on NFL replay! What a collapse!

It could be worse.

You could live in Buffalo.

At least we have a decent hockey team.

that was a fun game to watch, regardless of who won. back and forth, lots of offense, good times.

and tomlinson is the man. period. you can take johnson or alexander, i will take tomlinson any day of the week.

and how bout rivers. my boasting point of the day- last year, got palmer in the lanys fantasy league in a late round. this year, got rivers. score!!!

Is it ok if I find it hilarious that the Bengals have the same record as the Packers at this point?

Bengals Opponents: 139-117
Packers Opponents: 115-141

The thing that actually matters: both are 4-5

but hey you can always go back to bragging about how you kicked some ass in pre-season

Here is the SOS from my ranking index (played so far/full season)

Cincy's: 0.86/1.20
Green Bay: -0.48/0.00

For perspective
the weakest so far is Atlanta at -2.00 (Chicago has -1.99 atm)
the weakest for the season is Chicago -2.00
the hardest so far is Tennessee +1.88
the hardest for the season is Tennessee +2.04

To build this I took the current index rating for each of the team's opponents. For the current rating I just add each one played and divided it by the number of weeks (for the by week they get a 0.00) to get the value. For the full season rating I add whole schedule and divide by 16.

Anyone can beat anyone on Sunday in the NFL. That is proven week in and week out.

I still don't think that Green bay is as good as Cincinnati. Of course I am biased. I'm also a realest though, I actually picked them to lose Sunday, and I'd be a purple suprised bastard if they finisht he season with a winning record.

Goes to show how hard it is to stay on top like Indy and New England and siuch have done for so long...

I don't think the Packers are as good as the Bengals either...but they're nowhere near as bad as all the nonsense in the "You poor poor Packer fans..." and "Week 1 thoughts so far?" threads either.

I have to say 4-5 against any NFL schedule with 17 rookies on the roster is pretty impressive.

Dude, you can't tell me that after the first couple of weeks, including some of the preseason, that you weren't like. Oh shit. Is Green Bay even going to finish the season with 3 wins...

Same thing with New Orleans...

If you thought that about New Orleans, you don't know football.

Drew Brees
Joe Horn
Reggie Bush
Deuce McAllister

Why wouldn't you think they wouldn be at least a .500 ballclub with those guys on offense?

Because Reggie Bush is unproven (and averaging like under 3 yards per carry). Drew Brees is coming off of major surgery and you don't know what you're getting with him, and if he doesn't do well that pretty much negates Joe Horn since he can't throw the ball to himself.

No one thought the Saints were going to be good this season.

I thought that Neesha because, I've played ball up into college, and just last November had the labrum repaired on my shoulder. Same thing as Brees. It wasn't my throwing shoulder, and I know how fucking painfull it was for me.

Bush being great looking, but how many have looked that way?

McCallister and Horn can't do it alone with no one throwing the ball or giving it to them.

What about their defense?

I'm suprised and definately happy though. It's a "feel good" story.

Oh heres. the story about the hit - in case any of you missed it.

Quote:
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh forgave San Diego safety Marlon McCree for the early, high hit that left him groggy.

Houshmandzadeh watched a replay of the fourth-quarter hit, which left him momentarily unconscious, and decided on Monday there was nothing wrong with it.

McCree drew a pass interference penalty for the hit in San Diego's 49-41 victory over Cincinnati. As he fell, Houshmandzadeh's head connected with the knee of linebacker Randall Godfrey.

"He was just trying to make a play on the ball," Houshmandzadeh said. "He got there a little too soon. It wasn't actually his hit that hurt me. It was the fact that the linebacker was coming so fast. He tried to jump over me but as he jumped, he kneed me in the head. It was just one of those split-second type of accidents, basically."

McCree apologized for the hit, saying he lost sight of the ball and was just trying to break up the pass. Houshmandzadeh's helmet flew off, and he lay motionless on the field for a few seconds. He was groggy when trainers helped him off the field.

Although he felt better in the game's closing minutes, the medical staff wouldn't let him return.

"He was OK the last drive, but when a guy loses consciousness, they're not going to allow him to go back in the game," coach Marvin Lewis said on Monday. "So he'll be evaluated again -- he's already had one test, he'll have the second test on Wednesday morning and should be cleared."

McCree defended himself after hearing criticism that it was a dirty play.

"The most important thing for me was the T.J. was OK. I saw him on the sideline laughing," McCree said. "The second-most important thing was that we won. I'm feeling pretty good. I just didn't want the image to be portrayed that I was a bush-league player, that I was a dirty player. I've never been that type of player. I'm a physical player. I play hard, but that's what I get paid to do, is to play tough and hard and aggressive."

Also, Joe Horn sucked ass last year, and the over/under on McAlister having a season ending injury in any given year is like 4 weeks.

It's pretty cool that NO is having such a great year, but anyone saying they saw it coming is selling a giant crock of shit.

I'm one of the few people who still thinks they are mediocre at best. I don't expect them to win the division and I doubt they will even get a wildcard spot.

With it looking like 9-7 being good enough to make the playoffs it's going to take quite a slide for them to miss the playoffs entirely.

I disagree. The Cowboys, Eagles, and Panthers will all likely finish with 10 victories. 9 won't get it done.

haha the Cowboys are going to finish with 10 wins my left nut...not with possibly the worst secondary in the NFL and an offensive line that only shows up every 3rd week or so.

I predict 8-8 for the Saints, possibly 9-7. There may be one 9-7 team that sneaks into the playoffs, but there will probably handfull of 9-7 teams that don't make it.

I wouldn't say the worst secondary in football - the worst free safetys in football maybe.
