I really thought this was going to be awful.<

As it turns out, I'm finding myself more and more interested every day. It might not be the next World Cup, but it is interesting. Now, if less MLB players bailed, it could be really interesting.<

I would be very excited about this if they would play games at night on TV. As it is, I'm having a very hard time keeping up.<

Poor A-Rod... only batting .368 with a game-winning hit. Why wouldn't you at least say D-Train sucks, just to be accurate?

Yeah but I like the D-train. Actually I don't have that much hate for A-rod, but the colossal choke that was last season is pretty funny.

He batted .321 with 48 HR and 130 RBI. He also stole 21 bases and committed 12 whole errors while learning third base. Sure, he didn't hit worth a shit in the post season, but nobody really did for the Yankees. He still got on base more than anyone other than steroid boy, so I'd hardly blame him for their inability to win it all. But hey, you still thought the Nationals would make the playoffs, so that says it all.

I was as good at baseball as A-rod when it counted. I think he'll become an all-time player in the next couple of years, but for now, he's headed for Ken Griffey, Jr. levels of overrated.

For the first time in like... ever, I've actually enjoyed watching a few games. I'm a little sad still that Canada fell apart against Mexico, but it's made for some exciting baseball. I'd like to see more of the 'star' players out there, but with the chance of injury and all, I can understand that. All in all, it has made for very competitive (and again, exciting) baseball.

I didn't think the Nationals would make the playoffs - I said, when they started kicking ass in the first half, that they'd collapse around the
eak and finish 4th in the division.<

I was close - they finished 5th, those assholes. At least this year they've made changes to be exactly the same.

I'd like to see them play this after the World Series and leaving off playoff teammates if they don't want to participate. Its like the middle of spring training for these pitchers and most people that follow baseball know that they don't get consistent performance wise till a month after the regular season starts. I think Fe
uary'd be a good time for this, if only because that's the single worst month for sports in these United States.

Eh, if nothing else, those same pitchers will be primed for the start of the season. Those that participated.

Wow after the home run call (where the ball clearly hit the pole)...im not sure if there isnt some ump bias going on with this guy (he is the same one that made the call against Japan too).

Wow. The officiating was horrible for the US Games, albeit in their favor. Japan deserved to move on.

I think Cuba vs Japan is a pretty sweet title game. It's cool to see totally new players, and of course, I will be rooting for Cuba
