Sounds like they were obsessive to get it *just right*. That's the problem with perfectionists, they never get shit done.

Either that or they were milking that funding teat for as long as they could, living it up for however many years they were "developing" DNF.

They changed engines like six times during development, that could have had a major hand in the delays too.
