Can anyone recommend a good USB headset? The one I have is made by Cyber Acoustics and I find that my ears start hurting after 10 minutes when wearing em. I'd prefer one with two speakers but will do with one if need be.

USB is amazing for laptops because laptops have shitty sound cards almost all the time. I would say go USB if you have a shitty sound card or laptop otherwise you're spending more money then you should.

I'm using it for WOW. I've already tried the ones with the mini-jack connectors and could never get them to work. USB models worked right away.

I took a look at that Microsoft model and it looks like it would be painful to wear for extended periods of time. I'm hoping to find one that has ear buds or something similar.

Killer ear bud headset. It's small, very lightweight and after about 2min you don't even know you have it on.

Also, with USB, if you plan to route certain things (like Ventrilo, for instance) solely through the headphones, you're able to do so because USB devices show up as additional speakers, a new soundcard -- instead of just nothing like regular headphones. This is helpful for me, because I like to have the ventrilo and mic go through my headset, and then my music and game sounds and everything else through my 7.1 speakers.

Yeah didn't think about that because I already have 2 sound cards (Realtek HD onboard and a X-Fi Xtreme Music), so I can already route different apps to specific outputs.

Can you still hear your computer speakers okay when you have those on? They most likely work great but I figured I'd ask anyway. Probably the best fit for my needs.

Here is another set you might be interested in...

I love Sennheiser headsets, been using this one over 4 years. Wear glasses and used to always have headphone irritation problems until these. Design is comfortable and the quality is awsome, especially the mic.

And the USB adaptor it comes with is handy for non-USB audio equipment you might want to use also.
