Hey guys, a few quick questions.<
>
<
>
I have been looking at getting a few new games, and was wondering about the playability on my current system.<
>
<
>
Games I am looking at are Rome: Total War, Civ4, and possibly Guild Wars. (no monthly bill seems ok with Kind and I atm)<

This site tells me that my system will run everything, but I am guessing that would be at min specs for most of them probably. http://www.systemrequirementslab...amespy_all<

System is AMD Athlon 64 3000+, NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 64mb, 1024mb Corsair ram running on XP home.<

Should I be able to run the above games ok as is? Don't really have the cash atm, but could look at getting a cheapish vid card upgrade, possibly a 6600GT or 6800 pro or similar if absolutely necessary.<

Thanks.

Guild Wars blows. Think bnet kiddies but far worse (no monthly fee means many asshat childrens). Far better to blow the $50 on 6 mos of EQ/WoW or some shit if you're that desperate for an MMO. Hell, even AO is better. <

Civ4 is well worth the money. I haven't played Total War, but have heard good things about it. <

Civ4, not sure of the specs offhand. Only thing that would concern me is the graphics card you have but a 64 would prolly run it. I don't think they geared it only for top end systems since that would fuck their sales. Patches have also made it much more stable.

Keep my head from exploding?... You can help!

On a AMD 2200+ with a 9700pro and 1gig of ram Civ IV runs well except for the wonder videos. RTW I run at 1024x768 at generally medium graphic settings. Don't have Guildwars.<

Your graphic card seems like it would be quite the bottleneck, but I'm not quite sure how a GeForce 3 stacks up to a 9700, and if the faster processor would make up for the G3.

Total war and civ 4 are solid choices. And honestly, playing them at the same time would take alot of the enjoyment factor of exploring the depth each game has to offer.<

And damn you for making me install Total war.<

ps - civ 4 is an amazing game.
