One of the segments talks about how writers got very adept at saying one thing while doing something else. They then cut to a scene, old cowboy movie, of two cowboys asking to hold each other's guns to see how they feel when they shoot. It couldn't be more homoerotic if you watched them fuck each other right there. It was really fucking hilarious and is, short of the scene from Ben Hur where something is going on that no one told Mr. Heston about, one of the best clips provided in the documentary. <i></i>

How is Crash not exactly like an afterschool special? People with one set of views have their tune changed after encountering a Rube Goldberg-like coincidence and then get The Big Idea.<

okeback fans are the bitter ones, riiight. Most people admit crash is a pretty good movie, meanwhile all the crash fans can't bear to admit perhaps the winner of every other award this year might be worth seeing. I think it's a moot point anyway, since as writers like Jim Emerson are always pointing out the best picture nominees are rarely the best films of the year anyway. Personally
okeback was 9th on my list this year and crash an honorable mention, though I doubt most of you, and more importantly most of the academy voters, have seen even half of them.
