The part of DOMA that denies benefits to same-sex married couples (file jointly, provide long-term medical care on insurance policies as spouse, espousal privilege in criminal trials at the federal level) has been found unconstitutional in the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals, so now it goes to the Supreme Court. They'll probably also only rule on that section, but they'll probably strike it. It's progress.

would be nice if DOMA is struck from the books.

I agree, it just a old stupid law that just wasting money.
