Article in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette discussing Rep Marion Barry's (D-AR) decision to retire in 2011 (I think you need to subscribe to read the story)
(Full Story)

Quote:
Obama advisers dismissed warnings that they were repeating the same mistakes on health care that were made by the Clinton administration in 1993-94, Berry suggested.

“They just kept telling us how good it was going to be.The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”

Should be very interesting in Arkansas as two sitting Democrat Representatives have decided to retire. Vic Snyder, 2nd Congressional District - central Arkansas, is a person that I have disagreed with on several things but I respect him and think that he is a very good man. He was not a part of the political machine and what many could call an Old School Democrat and a friend of the soldier. His vote was not for sale and you knew where he stood on the issues.

Marion Berry, 1st Congressional District - northeast portion of Arkansas, was more liberal than Congressman Snyder on many issues, but he was another down to earth person and a true friend of the Arkansas farmer. He would have easily won re-election if he decided to run.

With those two seats open (and originally considered SAFE) plus the very heated race to remove Sen. Blanch Lincoln (D-AR) this political season in Arkansas will be A LOT of fun.
