We've had quite a few confirmed cases up here in my county now, including several at my hospital. There doesn't seem to be 1/100th of the "OMG" factor about it that there was a couple months back.

The death rate (right now) for Swine Flu is what 1:2,000? What is the usual influenza mortality rate?

However, it is a bit worrisome that we are still seeing new cases of this flu and it is entering summer.

People get the flu all the time. Just like colds. Infections don't care about seasons.

And from the numbers I'm seeing, swine flu is more like 7% mortality.
