No. It would not. Unless it triggered a massive earthslide on a pre-existing faultline which just happened to cause a landmass several cubic miles in size to collapse into the sea.

What concerns me(well, and I guess a lot of people probably) is the fact that Kim Jong Il is both crazy, AND he is in extremely failing health. The guy just doesn't seem to give a shit what happens to the world around him. I wouldn't put it past him in his dying moment's to just lob some missles in random directions, even if their guidance systems are absolute shit, and cause some serious problems for the world(in particular east asia).

It's more likely they'll just nuke Japan instead, since the North Koreans have nearly as big a hard-on for them as they do for the U.S.

Oh, I wasn't referring to the general citizens of North Korea. Any opinions out of that nation are formed almost solely by their government and, as you said, spoon-fed to the populace.

Could be wrong, but doesn't the U.S. have several ships and units on the land over there with surface-to-air capability to take them down? Not saying it would be as accurate or reliable as the proposed missle defense system, but at least it's some type of defense.

That response time is significantly reduced due to Aegis (ACS) and the Navy's strong presence in the region.
