I just don't understand why this, and maybe even Aste-style drama, doesn't happen in WoW. Was it that EQ attracted a strong niche and somewhat "outside-the-norm" crowd? Even with the lack of community WoW has in comparison, it seems like some incidents should happen, but don't.

Anathae is on the top of my list, to be sure. While Livak was pathetic, and Xianle vapid and careless, Anathae was as meticulous as s/he was whoring. As for the "picture being quite rosy" there are numerous people who frequent this board who been to my home and stayed over numerous times (1 person just this past weekend in fact) who can and HAVE attested to what kind of kids I have.

You see, unlike your pathetic boo-hoo for me life, mine is an open book. I don't hide behind a keyboard making grandiose posts about how great my life is (Skycrasher) or post diatribes contradicting peoples posts in attempt to be seen as an "intellectual" like you. Unlike most on here I am open and accessible to anyone and everyone. All one needs to do is PM or call me if they want to stop by and hang out or need a place to lay over while on a long road trip or just want some conversation, a meal and then push on. I don't hide behind my keyboard, the internet or my front door. Can you say that? I don't think so.

I think that's like the second or third time someone's said I'm "attempting" to be intellectual, lol. I promise I won't let it go to my head, but 90 percent of the time I just type out exactly what comes out of my head. I've been to Khans house once and yes his kids are that way. Best behaved kids I've ever seen.

Yeah, Khan and I might never agree on anything and he'd probably just eat me if he ever actually met me IRL, but he also seems like a pretty stand-up guy who cares for his kids well and doesn't cower in fear at the thought of breaking the internet/life barrier.

Nah Bovine, I am actually a pretty laid back guy and not near as intense as people who haven't met me think I am.

I'm don't doubt that you do a great job raising your kiddos, I just don't see why you always have to tell us how much your son weighs/benches. That's not exactly a character trait.

It is exactly a character trait. Showing dedication and discipline in the pursuit of a goal is a fine character trait. He wants to play college ball and knows that the only way that will happen is if he works hard in class, on the field and in the weight room. Khan's son shot me in the ass with a paintball gun, but I'm pretty sure I deserved it.

I've been around Khan's family and kids quite a bit and I do have to admit they're very well behaved.

Unfortunately, I can't recall a time in my interaction with Venen when I could say the same. From the trainmaster of Lower Guk to the days with Dumbasses of the Apocalypse, you've just never really shown the Lanys community excessive maturity or good decision making.

And Bearne - If you had a stop in Indianapolis and needed a place to stay, I have no doubt that Khan would open his door to you and be very hospitable. You would probably rather enjoy his company as he's very easy to get along with in person.

I used to think he was a dick on the boards way back when. I remember when people first approached me about getting him into 7D I was like "That dick? No way" but I gave him a chance and found him rather likeable after getting to know him. Funny memories.

First impressions mean a lot, just like with you and Khan. I tend to be a little more optimistic about people in general - that is, I think you'll probably find you can see good traits and get along with just about anyone if you spend some time interacting with them. That goes for people I dislike in general as well.

There are certainly some shitheads out there, but "hero in our own minds" is a rampant infection.

I'm a little different, I suppose. When I see people do incredibly dumb stuff in a game I tend to think they're just doing it for shits and giggles, not because they're a genuinely evil person. I tend to be cautious with first impressions like that, because I've found that most of the time when I dig deeper with said person there's a little more behind the curtain. Not always, mind you, but most of the time.

Call me naive, but I don't think I'd do that if I didn't have some faith in humanity being mostly good. I think it's far easier to chalk random_moron_00 who teamkilled me in Counter-Strike up as assmuncher.

I can assure you I wasn't trying to be too inventive with that though... it's not something that's too often used in day to day speech, but it's hardly original either.
