Prorogue, a new word to me, and one I did not know existed until recently.

In Canada we just had a election where the 4 parties split the vote so bad, we ended up with another minority government.

The four parties are;

Liberals
Conservatives
New Democrats - very socialist
Bloc Quebecois (Quebec separatist party, only represents the province and interests of Quebec)

So this week the minority government of the conservatives faced an overthrow by the other 3 parties ganging up on them to form a coalition government.

Our Prime Minister had to request the Governor General of Canada, a person who mainly has nothing more than a figure head job, to prorogue the Parliament, meaning to suspend it till near the end of January when the governing party will be able to have a proper budget prepared.

I along with many Canadians were pretty worried that our Governor General would not be able to make a right decision, and allow this collation, partly made up of an anti-Canadian party to take over leading the country, a right that the voters did not give them 6 weeks ago.

We just had a 3rd election in the same time the US has had just one election, and these nut cases want another election right away.

Anyways, this is the most interesting our politics have been in a long time.

Suspending parliament without dissolving it.

It's as interesting as it is idiotic, I can't wait to watch Liberals and NDP crash and burn in the new year.

No nation has ever benefited from a one-party status quo. A weaker liberal / NDP situation just makes the Conservatives more sure of themselves and more likely to go corrupt. You should pray for a healthy, happy, and viable opposition. It'll keep your guys in power longer.

I don't know much about either of those parties(and I assume the "Conservative" group is far to the left of our conservatives), but if they both fall, who will take up the banner of a more logical left-leaning group of people? You need to have SOMEONE with some common sense in there, right?

Liberals pretty much the same as the Democrats and our Conservatives are akin to Republicans.
