I just wanted to thank everyone that has been involved in all the discussions here good and bad they are enlightening and entertaining.

I went and did early voting last thursday, it was the first time I have voted although it was the second time I was eligible. So I have done my part and I can't wait to watch the official numbers pour in. My heart is in my throat everytime I think about the election or turn on CNN. It is just about over and it seems like Barack has won although there is still a chance that McCain could win. Good luck to everyone in their local and national election decisions.

No matter what happens on November 4th the 5th is going to be a day that we all remember.

I've heard that CNN's coverage is going to do things that have never been done before. Should be fun to watch. I'm taking the day off. Early voting lines in Atlanta were 5+ hours long.

I'm thinking of just watching it on BBC America. I'm not too keen on all the gimmicks.

I'm sad to say that I've enjoyed BBC news coverage more of late than any American news source.

For me, the BBC is second only to NPR's "All Things Considered" or "Morning Edition."

Like Snarky, I'd like to thank everyone around here for going at it once again over an election. I wouldn't come back if I didn't find the time worthwhile. Special thanks to the pro-McCain and Obama detractors for bringing some diversity to the board. Not easy taking on the majority.

Good luck to all and their candidates! I too enjoyed reading the boards this election cycle. Unfortunately I just can't pull the trigger for either one of these clowns and will not vote for either one just so the other doesn't win.

I am just going to vote the local/state candidates and do what I do every election day evening; Sit in my garage with the TV on cleaning my guns in preparation for Deer Season and inventorying all my cold weather gear.

FYI, in 2004 Bush went into election night w/ a 1pt lead, and won by 3pts. Obama is ahead by 8+ pts depending where you look. Pretty significant difference. He also leads in all major voting blocks, or is only down by 1. (White male and white female for instance) the only one he trails in is Evangelicals and they are not as strong as they were in 2000.

I know exactly what you're saying Khan, which is why I never say Obama has it in the bag. But ever since he announced his candidacy, I've felt, and said to friends that he would have a serious chance to change the electorate. A whole new set of voters that politicians would have to pay attention to, changing some surprising states. I've been reluctant to say, but have always felt that Obama will carry some states that are deep red in the polls even today.

Judging from the crush of voters at my precinct for Obama, (they expected 400 people, 1600 showed up, 1400 of which were for Obama), I gotta believe Kansas may shock some people. Odds are definitely against it though. Happy that the day is finally near.
