Anyone old enough to remember Space Wars?

It was a fun game back in the day.

My question is, any idea who owns the rights to it,(No luck in my searches online) and, how would someone suggest to a company to bring it out for some of the gaming systems?

I am thinking it would be EASY to port over to X-Box or PS, and it would be a good cheap game for people who had some time to waste. This would be a great party game. Controls are simple. Right, Left, Thrust, Fire and Hyperspace, and different screen options. (Stuff like Regular Gravity, Reverse Gravity, no inertia, etc.) I think the simple graphics are what makes this attractive for something like this. It would be awesome on my 70" TV with surround sound, LOL!

Just call Jim Pearce, Tom Stroud, or Larry Rosenthal and tell them your idea. They won't think you're crazy at all.

That's a hell of a chain of events.

Larry Rosenthal designed it
Cinematronics agreed to produce it
Tradewest bought Cinematronics and renamed it Leland Corporation
WMS industries bought Tradewest
WMS bought Midway/Bally
WMS spun off Midway with all their video game business
Midway went bankrupt, was rifled through by Warner Bros.

So: either Warner Bros. owns the rights to Space Wars, or the copyright is an asset held in a liquidating trust opened under court order to partially repay outstanding debtors during the bankruptcy process.
