No I meant the friends list interface in general. On the 360, I just open the achievements tab and I can check where my friends are achievement-wise instantaneously. With PSN I have to wait for trophy-loading nonsense. Instant messaging also always felt more smooth/natural on the 360 to me. It's annoying to have to scroll all the way to the right on the PSN interface, then scroll down to pick a friend.

That, and I can't even use the damned interface on PSN if I'm playing PS1/2 games. Sometimes the interface won't open properly without waiting depending on the app you're using. With the 360, if the machine is on, the interface is always on too regardless of what app you're using.

Don't get me wrong. PS3 is a great system, but honestly both systems have their ups and downs. For the PS3, the interface just isn't one of the "ups".

Didnt sony pioneer the development of Blu Ray, wouldnt you think they would keep the quality just a tad better then their competition?
The patent for Blu-Ray is held by Panasonic, who licensed the technology to Sony for the PS3. Sony doesn't have the legal right to keep anything back for themselves.

PSN "Welcome Back" free games. You get to pick 2 of the 5. Shit choices for the most part. *expected* Little Big Planet only one on the list worth having.

Hmmmm. I see one reference to that from about five months ago, and the 360 Netflix app took a title update since then. Lemme check out some stuff.

It may have changed but I don't think so. Been a couple of weeks since I watched an HD program on Netflix.

Yeah I've only heard of one of these games. Also, Ive read that you can't really even keep them unless you continue to use PSN-Plus as a subscription.

Sony's security woes continue as new exploit is found

When the PlayStation Network was taken offline last month, Sony said it would not restore the service until proper security measures were in place. Everything looked solid as PSN returned last weekend, until now. A new exploit has forced Sony to take down a few of its websites, leaving some PSN users unable to change their old passwords.

According to gaming blog Nyleveia, the exploit involves changing your PSN password through Sony's password reset page. The problem lies with the info that is used to confirm the password change, namely the PSN email address and a person's date of birth — info that the hackers who breached PSN already have. If the hackers have your info, then they can easily change your password before you do. Sony's since taken down its Playstation.com and Qriocity.com websites for "maintenance."

While PSN is not down for PS3 and PSP owners, this new round of security issues does set Sony back again. What was Sony working on "around the clock" if they couldn't even spot such an easy exploit?

Nyleveia, via MCV

Read about this latest bout of stupidity today at work. My PS3 has been in their repair hell all during this whole debacle. I honestly don't want it back now. Also lots of reports of the latest firmware update bricking a bunch of systems due to overheating. Glorious.

EDIT: Rockstar blames Sony. But 360 users are reporting now that L.A. Noire is shitting their systems as well. Said Rockstar post taking that stance has since been deleted.

It was on the psn forums announcement when they announced the final list of "I'm sorry" gifts. There were a few posts on it, none of which were directly from sony but from folks responding in the thread. evilmu
