I haven't tried the factions style, but I have been having a damn blast playing classic risk on xbox live.

Oooo when was this released?

as far as i'm aware, it's pretty new. like last week or so, because i saw a bunch of people on my friends list pop up with that game in the last five-ish days.

Is it just basic, general, standard Risk? Or some kind of hybrid?

I loved Risk as a child, that game and Stratego were my two favorite. I have Risk for the PC but I find it to be either way too easy or impossible to win due to computer dice rolls. No challenging middle ground...

You can play classic risk just like you know, or you can play the new version of the game, which is pretty damn cool, and I would argue, better. I say better because in classic, once card turn ins get to 30-35 the games gets out of control, where as the factions version seems to stay more balanced throughout.

If you loved Risk, you MUST get this game.

I have 6 Axis and Allies games going right now, but as I close a few of those out I'll check this out.
