So far the reviews are very nice with two perfect scores of 10 from Gamespot.com and IGN.COM

Also, Metacritic.com has 11 perfect score reviews from other major mags and websites. I'm not sure if I'll buy the game, but has anyone here played Super Mario Galaxy 2 yet? Is it better than the first game?

Platform games in 3D are not my thing really, and even 2D does not cut it anymore in my eyes.

I never played the first Super Mario Galaxy, the last real game I played of that genre was the first Mario for the Nintendo 64; how does this compare?

Yea I didn't see that part... though do platformers like Assassin's Creed, Arkham Asylum, Ratchet And Clank, Uncharted 1/2-type games count? =p

I mean, Super Mario 64 was good I guess, but it wasn't the beginning or end of the legacy of platformers =x

Reviews for this game are almost ridiculously positive. IGN gushes about a lot of things, for example, but I don't know if I have ever heard them gush quite this much. Not a single negative thing to say.

Here's their video review:

Yeah I know scores are retarded high, but I don't put a lot of weight on most of those. Gamespot's 10 seems like it was almost because they just hadn't given out a 10 in a while, and Guns of the Patriots was a previous 10, so I don't know how much weight their 10 has.

For real people, how is the game?

I may pick this up some time but honestly I never beat Galaxy...it got boring. I literally would fall asleep playing it. I wanted to like it so bad :(

Guess it's sold out. Link is dead and a search doesn't even bring up the game now.
