They are working on a motion controller for the 360, and some games as well. Here is the PDP controller in all its glory. Its "better" than what the Nintendo Wii has, and it looks a lot like the Wiimote from some odd reason lol

Also, this will be the first motion based game for the Xbox 360.

This one actually looks more like a dildo than the Wii remote managed to look like. ;P

Also, the first thought I got was, "Yay, more competition = good" Then I looked at the game. Bleh. :)

Well the controller and game is being made for the PS3 as well. Both Sony and MS are not making any official motion controllers for their systems. PDP is all third party, not first etc

That's awesome. Can't wait to see the technology to be put to real use w/ the 360. Wii-motes are gay.

I agree, Gosthok. Before Sky, I'd never seen someone so completely and thoroughly support both sides of an issue while simultaneously fellating himself.

yeah. as long as they keep it on some niche titles that i don't have to buy, that's fine. but don't make left 4 dead 2 a motion control only. there's a reason i don't have a wii

Left 4 Dead on a console like the Xbox 360 (or any really) pales compared to the PC controls. Why would you want to play a game like that on the Xbox 360 in the first place?!? The Wii at least comes close to a mouse's movement...much faster than the slow ass analog sticks (OMG a mouse is motion btw). If anything, motion controls would be a lot better than the default Xbox 360 setup.

FPS>all on the PC format...consoles don't come close to the platform's gameplay for these types of games.

The Wiimote by itself is the most uncomfortable piece of shit for playing FPS games ever created. The stupid gun clip on makes House of the Dead at least playable.

I'm so over this gimmick bullshit it isn't even funny anymore. Even their classic controller is a pile of shit. I want my fucking Wavebird back.

I understand how you feel, Givin, but I'm not talking about the Wii being good for FPS. I'm saying the IR in the Wiimote is A LOT faster than the analog sticks, and it moves like a mouse on screen. Moving very fast, compared to the slow movement of analog controls (there is a big difference between the two)

Like I said, FPS are MUCH better on the PC than consoles...its a fact, and I'm sure you agree with that statement Givin. I still don't understand why anyone would play a good FPS on a console. They must like being n00bs :snakeman: or don't have a good PC to run them I guess.

Yes, but the huge - mega huge - drawback that makes it much worse than a mouse is the imprecision of it. I can move my house and then leave it completely still when I need to. If I'm standing far enough back with a wiimote, it looks like I am having a fucking seizure on the screen. Maybe that was a setting on my friend's wii, but I think that makes it worse for somethings than either a controller or a mouse.

yeah i know fps is best on PC, but after building up some controller-fu with halo 2, i've gotten to where i'm at least serviceable on console fps, plus i don't have a pc that can run source engine at max, much less keep up with graphic trends going forward, so 360 is my platform of choice.

I think FPS works fine on 360 once you get used to it. Target assists are great as well. FPS' are so impressive visually nowadays, I don't think having a mouse makes up for losing the 42+ inch TV with no graphical slowdowns, on a $300 piece of hardware.

Agreed, they just need to enable keyboard+mouse control for consoles anyhow.

Personally, I think a good digital trackball works even better than a mouse. Infinite turning without having to ever pick up your hand. I play PC games on my laptop, and I can sit the trackball down on the couch next to my lap and never have to sit at a PC desk.

yeah, for playing console games i prefer the control, just because i don't need a flat surface and then a pad to have the mouse on, plus there's not a shitload of extra buttons that i can accidentally hit. i think there could be some kind of solution that would work without requiring a large flat surface, like those 10-key gamepads for PC that you could put on the armrest of a couch, and maybe some kind of control like the one in the OP but designed to be held like a mouse. the problem there is that for me mouse control in FPS only works when i have that opposing force of the desk, so i can't imagine there being a decent solution for FPS control that doesn't require a keyboard and mouse
