Almost as good as a HDD, but close enough. The new SD card channel allows support all SDs up to 32GB and immediate download and play straight off the SD card. Very nice, and a 32G SD is larger than my Xbox 360 HDD (I have the 20G version). So, I'm not going to have any storage issues with the Nintendo Wii going forward.

I think most people should be happy with this news, and the update is out now for all Wii owners. Enjoy

"With Wii System Menu 4.0 we've made a number of improvements ... a single SD card can hold up to 240 titles." Iwata said.

"You're no longer limited to 2GB SD cards" and can use high capacity cards capable of holding up to 32GB right now. That's a lot of NES games. You can also download content straight to the Wii's SD card and run them straight off the card "with just a short loading time."

USB HDD support or gtfo.

I mean, I have no option but to accept this, but it is still retarded.

USB HDD would had been nice, but its not going to happen. One 32G SD is more than enough storage for 99% of the Wii users out there. My Xbox 360 has 12G left on it, and I do buy a good amount of Arcade content

They had no choice. Homebrew Channel has had support for this for a bit now. It was retarded Nintendo didn't from the beginning.

I wonder if this feature would ever allow me to 'download' my Rock Band 1 tracks onto Rock Band 2 like they offered for the PS3 & XBox.

Good game selection issues, on the other hand, are not over for the Nintendo Wii =p

lol Venen, it's true. I'm currently getting fairly entertained with some of the WiiWare offerings.

Madworld, The House of the Dead: Overkill and Run Factory: Frontier are all great Wii games :)

Also, Deadly Creatures is a unique title and fun...too bad no one bought it other than me lol

Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen is a great VC game, and soon Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber will be out as well (loved this game).

One 18 gig 7zip of every nintendo product ever made, emulators that can run them from said 7zip flawless and yet they can't provide decent storage for people who want to buy it legal.

Dumbtendo.

Givin, yeah, it's mind boggling. But, it's the same shit that goes with the music and movie industry really. As the TV Networks have found out, it is not so hard to put TV shows online, throw in some ads for revenue, etc. But, how long did it take them? :P
