I'm a big RPG fan, and the 360s selection is lacking... are there any good old school style rpgs out for the ps3?

Valkyria Chronicles from Sega is a must have RPG it seems. The reviews are great, and some folks here love it. Also, there is a demo on the PSN you can download and try before buying.

Also, you might want to check out Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice as well. Its pretty old school, and a great series.

I own both of those and they are great. A lot more micro managing in Disgaea 3, I didn't play much yet but I am on Valkyria Chronicles at the moment and I love the combat.

I wouldn't call Valkyria Chronicles an RPG, but it's an incredible experience nonetheless IMO. One of my favorite games this year. It's more of a strategy game in first person(with overhead map).

The Eternal Sonata PS3 release has some nice features such as Serenade being a playable character, and a couple new dungeons I think.

To be quite honest, NEITHER the XB360 nor PS3 has a whole shitload of RPGs, especially traditional RPGs. Fortunately some of those releases have been pretty damned good(Lost Odyssey IMO), but it's still pretty lacking. I'm often finding myself using my PS3 to play the old school PS2/PSX RPGs.

At this point, particularly after FF13's switch to cross-platform, XB360 may take the cake for a better selection of RPGs. I'm really looking forward to Star Ocean as well.
