It's not the first time they've tried to do this and it won't be the last.

one of the primary reasons i modded my console is because i NEVER play on live. EVER. i had a subscription for 2 years and never used it, so i stopped it.

i'm fine w/ this. my games are stealth patched anyhow. a lot of the bannings are from people who have bad rips and played games online before they hit retail. big no-no.

Bricked consoles just go up on ebay, and another gets bought to replace it.

World goes on. Microsoft gets good press on people who aren't in the loop because they are playing sheriff, and they get more console sales. They win twice.

I don't know how I would survive on this green earth without my Virtua Fighter 5 Online. PRIMARY reason I have a membership. WTB more fighting games that require skill, online(Please God no Buttonmash Calibur, though I enjoy that game for other reasons).

Street Fighter 4 will be out in early Feb of 2009! Also, MK vs DC is out in a few days I think. I played SF4 in the arcades and its a great fast paced game

Haven't played the new ones...but man I blew some quarters on the original lol...

Without violating my "fictitious" NDA (/bow Neesha), lemme point out that IF (only if, mind you) the dashboard itself were a title subject to automatic updates, it would be child's play to apply one that only worked for modded consoles and borked your hardware.

Not entirely. Expect the 360 modding scene to improve in the next few months.
