Here are the top shooters for 360 this holiday season. If you had to choose just one based on fun factor, early reviews, and what you think would be best... which one would you go with? Reply with opinions if you want...

having played all of them (fyi: i downloaded them from private torrent sites) i will say this:

1) gears of war 2
2) left 4 dead
3) dead space
4) call of duty 5

left 4 dead is great fun, it's like hl2 with zombies and the gameplay is cool. gears of war 2 is the hands down winner though. single player kicks ass, co-op kicks ass, and the multiplayer is phenomenal.

While at the midnight launch for Gears 2, there were some nerds talking about the various FPS games they play. The HNIC was talking about CoD and how unbelievably badass the graphics were and how great the beta was. I seriously thought he was going to bust a nut. That being said, I will be picking that game up eventually because the nerd was so convincing. However, if I had to pick one of the 4 listed, I'd pick Gears 2. Whereas the original Gears was a console-defining game, Gears 2 takes it 2 steps forward and should not be missed.

Gears 2 easily.

Left 4 Dead needs to be played on the PC. I think it will be like Team Fortress 2 and the community just won't be there like it is on Steam. Binkee can tell you more about that.

Dead Space looked like a good one and I do plan to get it after I finish up with several others and do writeups on them, but it for sure takes a back seat to Gears 2.

World at War, eh. I have played enough WW2 games. CoD 4 was amazing for not being a WW2 game, as well as being a masterpiece. Plus I am not a fan of a non Infinity Ward CoD. I still have not forgiven for CoD 3 and Thin Red Line.

cod5 doesn't feel as good as cod4 huh? its just not as good imho

Sky, I agree. CoD5, to me, just does not have it. CoD4 is more enjoyable for whatever reason. With that being said, I think Givin stated everything I would have in his post.

Gears 2 is probably it. Left 4 Dead is pretty cool but I echo the PC statement.

I don't know about CoD5 because I haven't played it but my brother used to play CoD4 everyday for 2 hours and says he loves CoD5 despite how much he usually hates WW2 games. I heard there is a demo so I'll be looking into that myself.

I would still pick Gears though it's pretty fun.

You know, now that I think about it, the HNIC was actually talking about Killzone 2 when he said how incredible the graphics were.
