Today, I finally made the jump. I took all my Wii stuff and walked away with an 80 GB PS3 (with BC), CoD4, RockBand, and NCAA College Football 2008.

I'm going to purchase LittleBigPlanet (pre-ordered it) and going to wait until Christmas to ask for either Rockband2 or GuitarHero4, after a strong verdict is made.

What should I be looking for in terms of games? Looking for mostly FPS and RPG's.

The White Knight Story looks very promising indeed. Oh, and FF1000 when ever it comes out ;)

Also, Dead Space just came out and the reviews are very good. It features a great story and some very nice visuals as well.

Drakes Fortune is a very good game, it's a cover based shooter like Gears of War but it has lots of puzzles and platforming as well. Resistance is a must have FPS for the PS3. Warhawk is an online only Third Person shooter with vehicles, it's a nice change of pace from CoD4.

As far as RPGs go I would download the demo for Folklore and see if that's your thing. I bought Untold Legends and was pretty disappointed with that game, I wouldn't recommend it. There also is Disgaea 3 but I never played 1-2 so I didn't get it =p

Ratchet and Clank was one of the best PS3 games i've played so far. I'd pick up Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you haven't played one yet(This is a remake of the XBOX original). I never played Heavenly Sword but heard you could beat it in a rental.

-Hope that helps!

Oh yeah you can scan the PSN for some smaller games, I was completely a slave to PixelJunk Monsters and Megaman 9 until I beat them.

Great game indeed! Also, The Last Guy is pretty good as well (from PSN). Between all three systems, I only play downloadable content now. Its pretty funny because I don't buy too many retail games anymore. I like the pick-me-up gameplay, and the multiplayer is tons of fun too. Good times

If you're not a huge fan of MGS series I'd say pass. Way to controlled, linear, and cinematic. Not fun at all.

I disagree. I wasn't a huge MGS fan either but I think the entire experience is worth checking out if you own a PS3. Including the 346367 hours of cutscenes.

Obviously you disagree you're the one who suggested it.

I still feel the gameplay is way too controlled, the end player isn't able to make any decisions about what to do, or where to go. It's way too cinematic, and that's understandable as Hideo Kajima said he wanted his games to be more theatric/cinematic.

Not my bag.

The game was made to firstly wrap up the series, and secondly Sony came to him pretty much asking for a bail out game to sell their system.

He's said that he plans to continue the franchise, but I don't see how. It's pretty closed as is. One of the greatest endings ever and I can't see it really going anywhere without the Snakes.

Where did you hear Sony begged him?

I've heard numerous places he planned on ending it at 2, I'd be surprised if he wanted to continue it. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony asked him to make 4.

That's from 05 and now from 08

He always says he's quitting the franchise.

For RPG I would recommend Elder Scrolls IV, get the special edition or whatever it's called that comes with the expansion pack.
