At the Nintendo conference going on in Tokyo today, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced new measures in managing the oft-strained Wii storage.
Mr. Iwata announced that Wii software can be downloaded onto DS memory cards. In addition, Wii software will be easily transferrable to the Wii's internal memory, also via an SD card.
We'll continue bringing updates on the conference as they happen.
To address the lack of Wii system memory, Mr. Iwata announced that future Wii software can be downloaded directly to the SD memory card. Finally! It will also be possible to easily move software from SD card to the Wii system memory. Say good-bye to the weekly cleaning of the fridge, in other words.
The new Nintendo DSi
might be able to play your VC content as well. The DSi has a SD memory card slot like the Wii does. Also, they are saying you can play the WiiWare content off the SD card itself (it has not been confirmed yet). If that is true, it will be very cool feature.
