Returns to the Nintendo Wii with downloadable content (songs), and much more. The game was (or is) one of the best Sega Dreamcast game ever made. Samba de Amigo will ship next month, and it will be a must have Wii title indeed.

So uh...where will you store the songs on the Wii? It has very limited internal memory last I checked.

No, not particularly.

The idea of "downloadable content" on a flash device is preposterous in my opinion.

Yeah that's why some Xbox games are crippled, because you can't develop for users that may or may not have the HD, etc.

Why is that?

Well, as far as I know to prevent piracy Nintendo encrypts all the data you save on a SD card, so reading and writing on them is a really slow process. Have you tried saving pics you take from Smash Brothers onto an SD Card? They aren't particularly big files yet it takes forever to save them.

Also, the wii does not support SDHC, so 2gigs is the max size. Woot! :D

Maybe Nintendo can do a firmware to support SDHC etc. Or better yet, an update to support USB HDD.

As far as I know, SDHC is actually a hardware limitation in the reader, not in the software.

And enabling USB HDD support would only be a boon to the hacker/homebrew industry, not to nintendo.

The biggest problem for the Wii is that you cannot run your downloaded programs directly off the memory card. If they could fix this problem, then there would really be no problem anymore. I mean it sucks to only have up to 2GB of memory, but most things you do with the Wii are minuscule compared to the 360 or PS3. However, people have filled up their Wiis with downloads and the gripe is that you have to keep swapping stuff back and forth, which is understandably stupid and annoying.

As of right now, that's working as intended.

And if Reggie's assistant is to be believed, won't be changing anytime soon.
