I'm still trying to beat the first game, or rather... I just started it. Hopefully by the time I finish the triology they still have that MGS4 PS3 bundle. Looks like a good deal. :P

I would probably buy that MSG PS3 bundle if you find it. A bunch of fleabay scum are buying them up and reselling them on fleabay. I have never played a MSG bundle but I just ordered the Essential Collection, pretty good price for 3 games.

I thought about getting it the PS3 bundle, but then I talked myself out of it when I realized that there was really no other game I wanted for it right now. :p

It will only be enjoyable to most if they are familiar with the series and want to know how it ends.

There is still zero reason to purchase a PS3 for gaming.

None at all.

Well, Metal Gear Solid being one of the consoles biggest franchises, I know it's one of those games that makes a PS3 worth having.

I like my PS3. Shrug. :)

Motorstorm
Resistance(Resistance 2 soonish)
Warhawk
Ninja Gaidan Sigma(If you don't have an xbox)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Folklore
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection

There are more games that are on the PS3(SingStar for example or GT5) but those are the games I enjoy. I also use it for a media center.

No use in arguing it. If you like it, you like it. If you don't, you don't.

Only game from that list I really would want to be ported to 360 is Ratchett and Clank. Loved those games on the PS2, and hear this one is just as good.

TBH I bought a Ps3 simply because my bud and the 8 people he played with on Xbox live were all on their 3rd and 4th Xbox 360's due to them all breaking. The Xbox at BB was broken, the one at walmart was broken...etc.

I'm not paying 400 bucks for something that is almost sure to break...repeatedly.

That said I've noticed the slowdown and chugging along on the ps3 that I've heard about. I'll see slowdown and stutter in CoD4 when folks do Airstrikes etc.

I bought the PS3 for a blueray player but that has fallen to the wayside a little bit simply because I can't play games on my plasma and carting the unit back and forth got annoying. Well.....that and blueray movies have yet to drop in price since the death of HDDvD. I'm not paying nearly 30 bucks for a disc.

I'm perfectly well aware of the chances of my 360 shit bricking, and I bought it in a heartbeat over a PS3.

As much as it sucks to have your Xbox get the RRoD, it only takes about 2 weeks to get it back from MS once you send it off. It actually took me longer to get my original coffin to send it away in than it did to get it back once I sent it off.

I'm on my 4th Xbox 360, and 2nd PS3. Still on original Wii though.

Wow your second PS3? I never hear about issues with the PS3 system (compared to the PS2 launch systems). What was wrong with it btw? Also, I wonder how well the new Falcon Xbox 360 motherboards are holding up. They "should" fix a lot of the overheating problems MS has been having with the 360.

My fault, I somehow restarted during an update. I couldn't resync the wireless controller, and no USB ports were recognized. I bricked it.

I dunno, that seems kind of like assine design for that to happen in the first place.

The same design everything uses to update firmware? Why don't you google 360 fall or spring update bricking it can happen to anything that updates its firmware.

The PS3 reminds me of the sega dreamcast in a lot of ways. Really good graphics, potential for greatness but so utterly difficult to program for. Seems like everytime a game comes out for the other systems it takes forever for that same title to find it's way to the ps3.

Bioshock for example.

Bioshock wasn't originally planned to ever be on the PS3.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/24/levin ... pc-issues/
From the lead designer, Ken Levine
Quote:
I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people. There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery.

That was in August of 07

I've actually had my xbox for about 1.5 years and it's still working... the little "memory card" cover fell inside the box and the disc drive likes to scratch my discs up and throw out random "unreadable disc" errors while I play though, but no red rings!
