Got my ps3 going, charged the controller. When I registered for the sony network it looked like the thing froze up, but it was actually my controller. All 4 lights were flashing and then went out.

I rebooted the thing, and was ok, then out of the blue the 4 lights started flashing on the controller again and it wouldn't move the curser around the screen. Is the controller losing connection or something? Seemed to do it even when connected with the usb line.

Have you hit the little reset button on the back of the controller w/ a pin?

Otherwise, sounds like your PS3 is bricked.

PS3's dont brick

You need to hold down the power button on the PS3 until it beeps 3 times, this will reset the blutooth, which is likely gotten some interference from an external source.

I had a PS3 that bricked. I lost power during a firmware update and it would not recognize my controllers -- it's exactly as he explained.

My lights would flash rapidly when I hit the sync button but it would never sync up. No controller would, even my dad's I borrowed, and a new USB one. Even when connecting Sixaxis via USB it didn't work no matter how much I hit reset.

Anyhow, yeah, mine bricked. I had to send it in to Sony and they sent me a new unit.

PS: Holding down the power button simply resets the video configuration -- are you sure it resets the bluetooth? I hope that fixes it but I doubt it will. Let us know Larreth.

I had a similar issue with my controller blinking and the PS3 freezing, I turned off the PS3 manually and plugged the controller back in using the USB Cable it came with, eventually the controller stops blinking and when it does make sure it's connected to the PS3 via USB before trying to turn it back on again. This should "reregister" the controller to your PS3.

Played Cod 4 for like 4 hours last night with zero issues. Couldnt get the bluetooth headset going but I think thats my fault. Don't know the 4 digit number and whatnot.

Yup I used that and it did say 'registered' afterwords but it didn't broadcast during the games or in the lobby.

Did you go to settings->Audio device settings and go to Bluetooth then select your device? It should run a check to make sure your bluetooth set is working properly. Make sure your input device is your Bluetooth headset as well.

Noop. All I did was register it. I'll mess with that tonight, see if it helps..

Not sure I really want one yet tho...Most of the night was spent yelling FU*K!!! WTF!? or just a good old fashioned AUUUUUUUUUGH as I died every time I moved more than 20 feet lol.

By the way, are you not supposed to play games on plasmas? I seem to be seeing ghost images like old big screen burn in where status bars are from playing CoD 4.

I've read nothing to the contrary but it seems like this plasma I have takes minutes to get a ghost image...even if i have the DVD paused screensaver up to go get a drink upstairs, I'll come down and see the faint PIONEER image for a few minutes once I unpause.

The bottom left of my screen has this little circle on it and has had it since last night..kinda weird.

I think the whole reason you aren't supposed to game on a plasma is because of possible burn in issues which happen from a static image(game bars/status indicators that never move much). I think I read somewhere for the first 100 hours don't play extended amounts of games or watch sports with static bars for the score or tickers on shit like CNN. After the 100 hours I hear it's fine to do whatever but this is speculation because I only own LCDs.

Edit - I swear I remember reading that most burn ins can go away over enough time but once again this was a long time ago when I was shopping for an HDTV.

Yeha I read that before. Oddly this was a good plasma like a year ago that I have, yet I can start up a dvd and have the menu screen up for 5 minutes and come back down to see faint images of "play" "setup"...etc as the movie starts...

What a Piece of shit. WTB LCD TV.

I've had a few instances where I try to use the controller wirelessly and it sits there blinking for a while. I usually press the PS button once, then wait a few seconds, then press it a couple more times and it stops flashing. Sometimes when it stalls I've moved it around a little bit waving it in front of the PS3 and it eventually works. /shrug
