What Wii games would folks highly recommend?

We finally grabbed a Wii at Sam's Club, 1 of 7 that were gone in 10 minutes.

I was itching for Zelda, but my buddy said it's geared more for younger kids.
He recommended Resident Evil 4.

My wife likes the arcade type games, so mario, wii sports, etc.

I'm more a Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy nintendo fan.

=D

I really enjoyed Mario Strikers Charged. If you like puzzles Zack and Wiki is a good game, Super Mario Galaxy was pretty fun too. I kinda don't like Zelda a whole lot just because I am getting tired of go get the bow go get the boomerang go get the bomb bag, been doing that shit for far too long now and the story isn't anything great.

You may want to look into the Wii Classics then...

So far the only game I've played that's really filled my appetite has been Zelda: TP. Heh. The sports / play / etc games are fun, but primarily PARTY games. If you don't party a lot, or have a family to MP with... then forget the Wii. Go for a 360 instead.

Yep, Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii is the best implementation of GH on any console (some may disagree with that due to the battles, but I enjoy them).

I have Zelda TP also, which is a gorgeous game, but there's a couple spots in it where the gameplay gets stuck in the mud. My other beef with Zelda is that it's single player only, and I often like having friends over when I fire up the Wii.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a fun game, especially if you're a comic book fan. You have lots of heroes to choose from, go through it as a party (with AI able to run the others or other players), and tons of villains and customization options for your heroes.

Tiger Woods '08 is good if, like me, you fell in love with Wii Sports' Golf and wanted more. The Wii is a great console for virtual golf, and Tiger Woods '08 gives you lots of customization options and realistic gameplay. The only downside for this one is the graphics could be better.

Guitar Hero III for the win. I discovered that it doesn't much care whether or not your kid pulled the sensor bar down off the top of the tv.

Get Mario Galaxy and Zelda (no it is not for kids, not any more than Ocarina anyway), ASAP.

Metroid Prime is fun too.

Excite Truck is pretty fun, not the best racing game out there but it is fun.

If you missed any oldies, check the virtual console, might find a fun title or two.

I've also been wanting to get No More Heroes (rated M game), Dragon Quest Swords comes out next week, keep an eye out for that. Other than that, there's a lot fun Wii games that aren't worth 50 bucks, heh. Rayman Rabid Rabbits comes to mind, fun game but try to get it for less than 50 bucks, Wario Ware is another one.

What's the deal with Dragon Quest Swords? Is it in the main RPG line of games, or is it more of an offshoot like Rocket Slime or DQ Monsters: Joker?

It's not part of their main RPG line, DQ9 will come out for the DS. Also, just reading the IGN review it appears to be more of a kids game.
