Blog is down, you can see what was posted here.

Went to peek at it after Penny Arcade's comic. Was shocked that it was even worse than PA had broadly hinted at.

Quote:
Wah! The game takes 20 minutes to install the first time. Wah! Have you ever played a PC game? At least we aren’t making you shuffle multiple discs into a ROM drive, or continuously click “Yes!” on a series of endless Windows dialog boxes.

Yep that's actually from Capcom to their users about the issue. And while I might agree that an obscene load time the first time it's loaded into a console (which doesn't repeat) isn't the end of the world, even the most slackjawed of yokels should be able to communicate that to their customer base without the asshattery.

Though I found the claims of 'Super Nintendo-like load times' after the sluggish install an amusing benchmark.

I still happened to have the window open so I was able to grab an image of it.

From what I've read and heard people discuss at school, the initial load time is the last thing people need to be disappointed about with DMC4.

I'm hearing the story is worse than 2. And that is beyond epic failure if so.

It's pretty fun so far, DMC isn't for everyone.

So I just finished the game and I have to say that if you didn't play and beat Devil May Cry 3 you'd probably be clueless about a few things, mostly who is Sparda and why does he matter. Devil May Cry 4's story is decent but it leaves a lot more unanswered questions at the end of the game. They might have been setting up a Devil May Cry 5 to answer what they didn't in 4 but I would hope if they do make 5 just let that be the end of it and don't draw it out any longer. I love the series but it's core is a hack and slash game and I don't think I would enjoy it a 5th time.

PS Bad dialogue is part of the Devil May Cry "experience", it's been that way since the first one.

After renting it this week to check it out for myself, I think it carries on the series pretty well enough. The cutscenes are incredible and action packed. It's really a game that keeps you playing just for the desire alone to find out what happens in the next one.

Same problems as previous games, namely questionable camera at times but nothing I'd take away points on.

Dante is looking a bit aged also. This one felt more serious than the previous games, as he didn't constantly spit out cheeseball one liners.

It's more of the same really. Collect orbs, unlock moves, find all the secret hidden health increasing faces. But it is fun to do it and it doesn't become tedious.

A great addition. 360 didn't have any real noticable issues with loading or anything.

I'd give it 4.5 miggents out of 5.
