Has anyone bought this? It was released Nov 20th for PS3/360, right? Is it hard to find? I haven't gone to any game stores to try and pick it up yet.

I noticed though...

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=200345

Has it listed at 01/02/08 as the release date... what's up with that??

My friends have it and its fun (I guess...looks like all those other music games) if you have a group of people together. I'm not soo sure if its fun single player and stuff.

Why wouldn't it be? Guitar Hero is fun by yourself. Rock Band would seem to be x4 times as fun, since you aren't limited to just guitar. :?

Not to mention it has full online support... you can set up an online "band" and play with them whenever you want...

Of course, it'll probably always be more fun IRL w/ 3 other people, but, I mean the game is a very quality game on it's own as a single player endeavor.

I haven't picked it up yet, but it looks like only the game itself is available, the game/guitar/drum/mic bundle won't be in stores until Jan.

Apparently you can use the Guitar Hero guitar, and there are other mics you can use (even the Xbox360 headset will work) but there are no drums available at all right now. And I don't see the point of getting the game without the drums.

What the fuck is up with that???

Why release just the game? I mean, what if there were no GH controllers? And who would by the game now, just to have to buy the peripherals later? (Surely the mic, drums, and guitar will cost at least 180?? I think drums are 80, guitar 30, and mic 30, ok so 150... but still...)

Ha, retarded...

I'm sure the answer is that there are a whole bunch of kids with "Rock Band" on their Christmas lists.
And now their parents can go to the stores and see "Rock Band" on the shelves and will be able to leave it under the tree.

That sounds reasonal but the issue is that the game costs 180$ to make it really worth playing. I mean, I wouldn't pay 60$ just to play 58 new songs on the guitar only. Then, having to turn around a week later to buy the peripherals... just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I thought the whole bundle was available right now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_band_game

The wikipedia entry makes it sound like the entire thing is out, cuz it mentions how users are reporting that the guitar whammy bars are breaking and that the drum pedals are breaking. Are we SURE that the whole thing isn't out right now?

I may call gamestop later and ask..

The special edition of rock band came out awhile back, it was the entire set minus the "Bass" guitar, the second guitar is what comes out next year. The reason you only see the game in stock and not the bundle is because they had very low supply.

That makes sense...

I have GH2 for 360 so I don't care about having a bass guitar. You can't use 5 instruments.

I will keep an eye out for the bundle then... call around or pre-order it for when they get more...

Huh that's odd, Gamestop, Best Buy, etc... all say not yet available for the bundle, not out of stock.

The Wal Mart here has a metric fuckton of these in on a giant display.

Nobody wants it here apparently, and it's a college town.

Think that makes sense though, most college kids are poor and can't afford 200$ video games. =) A lot of people probably bought GH3 already or are waiting for the cheaper PS2 version of Rock Band.

Agreed. God knows I can't drop $200 on a video game. Hell, I can't drop $60. Starving college students need to eat. And buy books. And $60 buys a hell of a lot of ramen.

I am waiting on somebody in the dorms to get it so I can mess around with the drums. The guitar is basically GH2, which I own, so I don't really care about that, as well as the whole karaoke thing, seeing as a bud has some karaoke game for the PS2.

Now, if someone wanted to ship me COD4 for the 360, I wouldn't mind. ;)

We have our PS2 bundle on reserve at GameStop, but it doesn't come out for PS2 until the 18th
