Wow I wouldn't have known about the Divx/Xvid part of the update unless I read this. For all the Media Center people out there this is a huge bonus, Transcode 360 was too buggy.

They really should put a splash screen up with the patch notes after installing the update.

most of my anime and stuff doesn't work. what are the exact requirements? i thought it had to be xvid/divx in an avi container, and that's it? i get the "Can not play this file" on like.. 90% of my stuff. even popular newly ripped movies and anime that i've downloaded.

i'm streaming it from my vista windows media center to my xbox 360 over a wired network... what else should i be doing? is it possible these files just aren't compatible?

edit: apparently it doesn't work with windows media center. you have to just connect to your pc the regular way (as if you were viewing pictures)

It doesn't work in Windows Media Center Extender. You're going to have to kick out of WMC and back to the dashboard in order to play your videos. Annoying for people who like to switch between live TV and downloaded content.

that's great though because i never use WMC except to transcode content to my xbox. rad.

My Uncle had to ship his back in twice, 2nd time including the Power Supply.

He got it back day before yesterday sans said power supply.

Guess they fixed the problem eh.

My original Xbox 360 from launch day broke about 9 months after I had it, and I had them repair it because it was in warranty.

My 2nd Xbox 360 broke and it was out of warranty, so it just sat around until they announced the free repairs for those afflicted with the 3RLOD, and ever since I got that one back (maybe around June of 07) it's been fine.

I think they're on the right track. This Xvid/Divx shit is amazing though. Now there's no need for an XBMC, transcoding, etc. Word.
