So I've had my DS Lite for over a year and it's been collecting dust with my one...yes ONE game. New Super Mario Bros which was beaten at a moderate pace in oh, 2 days.

I finally have some cash and want to pick up some games, what would you guys reccommend? I like all types of games, regardless of genre.

That's about it. Ha. Some GBA games are fun though. FF3 remake is good too.

I don't know if you can find Meteos anywhere anymore, but that was such a fun puzzle. It's one of my favorite DS games.

I'll make a little list of my favorites:

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Not too far into it, but it is fun so far. Never played Castlevania games before this, but I'm enjoying it.

Tetris You can play online against crazy Japanese people! If you like Tetris I'd get it because of the online play, it's fun.

phoenix Wright I've had this game since forever and haven't beat it, but it is very fun. I should pick it up again. I really recommend this one.

Mario Kart: Double Dash One of the most fun Mario Kart games out there. And you can play online! Lots of cheaters online though, but still fun. We should get a Friend Code thread going on again about this and other online DS games.

Advance Wars - Another game I haven't beat... I hit a hard part and was too lazy to figure out. But it's fun. It's a war strategy game, so if you are into that pick this one up.

... I thought I had more games that weren't puzzles! I guess I need to go out and buy something new.

I'll definitely pick up Hotel Dusk, I've always liked those Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle type games.

I like Mario Kart okay, but is there a good diversity of maps? I hate playing on like 8 maps over and over again, it's really boring.

Animal Crossing is...well okay. Lots of people love it, I ended up kinda...meh on it. I liked the people who played it MUCH more than the game.
Tetris (if you like tetris, well duh)


Electroplanktan is one of the coolest games I've ever played, but it's not really a game. It's just a fuck around application that has lights and music and colors and shit. It's just really fun to veg out with, and sadly almost impossible to find now I've heard. =\

Hey! I still play Pokeymanz!

If it wasn't for WoW it would probably be the game that sucked most of my time, especially with the online gameplay. Building a kick ass team actually takes time now too. Darn you Nintendo!

Also, I had forgotten about Elektroplankton. I imported it from Japan way back before we got no news that it was going to come to America. It is one of my favorite DS... uh, thing. Like Tarot said it's not a game, but it's pretty amusing. If you can find it, get it!

Also forgot to add Nintendogs. If you like virtual pets this is a game you must own. This game has me convinced that Miyamoto is an evil sorcerer that managed to find a way to trap the souls of real puppies in this game. They are adorable. :[

I definitely advise picking up the r4 cards so you can download and carry all the games around at once :p Makes airplane flights a breeze.

Oh I was actually serious...I've played Pokemon since the first games what, 10 years ago.

They feed my obsessive compulsive disorder, filling the Pokedex is an OCD wet dream.

Right now I'm in the middle of replaying both Emerald and Fire Red so I can transfer the ones I catch to my Diamond game.

It really depends on what type of games you enjoy. My new favorite is Luminous Arc, a solid tactics rpg. Do pickup Mario Kart DS. It's my most played game simply because anytime I'm with other people that own DS's we be racing. Try to avoid anything thats a remake of a game from another system, most of those are cheap knock offs.
