Just got a Wii for the girlfriend to try and get her to stop thinking playing games make you a 1970 version nerd and she is actually enjoying it (mainly because she beat me in tennis :( )

I haven't touched a nintendo machine since SNES so no clue what is out there for games that I might actually like. Any one have any must play RPG/strat games for the gamecube? I've really grown found of the disgaea type games and Srpg's but I thought those were found more so on the PS2. I thought an ogre battle or ogre battle made it on the game cube but couldn't find any when I looked.

Any ways, would appreciate any suggestions on the best games for the game cube since I couldn't find one fucking game that looked fun for me to really get into on the Wii (bought zelda for me and MP8 for her...so far I rather play zelda the orginal over this but im guessing it will get better).

Check out Fire Emblem for the gamecube. It's pretty much the only strat/RPG for that system, although there are a handful of other good standard RPGs too (Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia come to mind).

Scarface for wii is great, it's GTA with a plot~

Zelda turns pretty good imho, you just got to give it a chance.

Resident Evil IV for GC (Now avail in a wii version as well) it's good.

Surprised to hear you say it was great, if anything I'd get Scarface for the PC or Xbox/PS2.

Stay away from the Wii version. It's terrible.

RE4 for Wii is awesome. Controller scheme is reversed (A should be to AIM, and B to shoot, instead of the opposite) but it's ok.

Yeah seriously, if you are into RPG's then the only choice is the PS2.

I love scarface for the wii.. it's great and probably not as fun on the PC.

Sometimes it's a bitch to get into rage mode though

Gamespot blows, don't know how you can use their ratings :p

Gladius is a real good strategy RPG for GameCube. It might be hard to find tho.

Thanks and fin how about less game advice and more healing plz!!!!!

Ya I had to sacrifice my own gaming prefereces for the Wii to try and get the gf playing so :( Oh well she called me when I was at work to brag about her 200+ bowling score on day 2 so I think it was worth it!!

Wii definitely seems fun but damn why can't they make some normal non gimick games that the srpg group likes :( Oh well can go beat FFT for the 20th time....

Well if you can find Fire Emblem I still suggest you give it a shot, it's a good game and really sounds like what you're looking for.

You could always settle for Disgaea 2 Turb =p
But I agree, there's STILL nothing that beats FFT especially in terms of replayability for strat rpgs.

Nintendo? As far as I know they haven't released more than 2-3 strategy RPGs or even actual RPGs since the SNES. There are exceptions here and there.
