I am wanting to purchase a DS game for a cousin of mine (my son drew his name for the family gift exchange). I'm looking at $20 or less.

I saw a few different ones that are around that cost. Was wanting to know what ya'll thought.

I'm leaning toward Sonic or Rayman (if I can find either one of those). He already has Princess somethingorother, Tony Hawk and Spongebob.

So does anyone know how Sonic or Rayman is? Or have any other suggestions?

Sonic Rush got great reviews over all. Rayman I would pass. Have you thought about the Brain Age games? They are $19.99 and fun to play.

Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day
Big Brain Academy

Also, Clubhouse Games is a great game for the price. It's online as well. You might want to find Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow instead of Rayman (might be harder to find now).

Well, I have to get something in a store, can't order it. Just got the kid's name, and we're doing the exchange on Sunday...so I don't have time to order something on the net. Which is why I figured I'd get a list of suggestions from you guys so I could walk in the store with options!

I would go with the brain games too.

How old is the kid? If younger 7-12 ish I would go with Big Brain academy.
If 12 + I would do Brain age.

Both are great games.

for $20, the brain age games are excellent. value, appeals to pretty much all ages... and look at it this way- you are increasing the IQ of society! you are the win/win in the community!

of course, you could always wear a high cut skirt or something and also be the win/win

Brain age it's great for the price, and it comes with sudoku!

If you see Sonic grab it also, should be 20 bucks now.

Also look for Advance Wars: Double Strike, and Meteos. If those game are available they should be under 20 bucks probably, they are old.

Yes and Kirby Canvas Curse as well. All great games for the DS. But, New Super Mario Bros. is a must have game for the DS. Also, WarioWare: Touched is a lot of fun too. Mario is over 20 bucks, but it's worth the cash.

So Brain Age would be appropriate and not too difficult for a 7 or 8 year old?

I think Big Brain Academy would be better suited for that age. Brain Age is gear more towards adults IMO. We have both and my 9 year old prefers Big Brain Academy.

Ah, I just noticed Carolsue's post saying the same thing. :)

Thanks guys! I will look for Big Brain Academy first, and if I don't see that, then Sonic.

Got Big Brain Academy. Last one in stock...and they didn't have Sonic in at all, so it's good I decided on the BBA.

Thanks for the advice!

Castlevanvia: Dawn of sorrow is an awesome game, so fun. Reminds me of the old school castlevania games that I grew up with. :)

The new super mario bros is right up there too.

And can never go wrong with Mariokart. :)
