Does anyone use Be Imba for evaluating gear? I'd be the first to say no web site is going to be the definitive source for gear selection, but I was curious as to the old Lanys faithful were doing with their gear.

My PVE score is 523.89.

be.imba is silly right now for me, since it dings me both for "overcapped melee hit" and "spell hit under cap"

I use pawn to put ratings on gear as an easy way to compare two items...however I use my own brain to complete my decision of which is better.

It's not bad if you didn't know the hit cap is 8%, and flags gear, enchants as weak, but makes no suggestions to improve.

On some things like enchantments it complains about there are three dots, if you click on that it will suggest improvements.

I'd like to see any other gear evaluation tools people use.

Also, is there a source for the different stat caps that exist? It would be nice to find one place that listed hit caps, haste caps, etc.

This thing is just straight silly.

On the hunter it gives me "upgradable enchants" enchants on half of my gear and mentions that I'm not getting socket bonuses.

I'd admit that I'm missing a few key items that would cause my enchant/gems to be a bit different, but I respec'd back to BM after the pet changes last week and ended the night #4 on overall DPS...

My PvE score is 507.86...

The problem with be imba is that if you really want to measure gear, you should measure the final result - the stats that gear contributes to, not really the gear itself.

If you're judging a cooking contest, do you grade the ingredients or the finished product?

Only 438.17....it doesn't know a damn thing about druid tank gearing, apparently. =D

For example, I guess I took a big hit for using a "low level item" (Idol of Terror)...well sorry for using the best in slot tanking relic. ><

Also, even though it figured out by itself that I'm "Feral Tank" spec, it talks about replacing sta/agi enchants with raw AP enchants and such. And it picks on my mongoose enchant!

519, points out missing ring enchants when my enchanting is only 354

506.6, although I have some crappy enchants. Seems weird though, most of the stuff I have is best in slot or close to best in slot for Fury warriors. Course, when I look for upgrades it sends me on a goose chase to look for beautiful things like armor pen, +def gear, even a few pieces with +spellpower on them.
