Just bought a laptop for my wife, who wants to play WoW with me. I can install the game from my CDs, but I don't think I can use the key that came with my CDs. I'm reading FAQ after FAQ and forum after forum looking for the answer to a simple question. Can she start a character on my account, then have it transferred to her account once I figure out how to create her account?

You can install the game on her laptop with the keys that come with it, np. It doesn't lock you in to an account by installing it. Then just go to the WoW homepage and "Create Account" is an available option.

Also, you could do what you say, but you'd have to pay to transfer the character and it would be a waste. You can create an account for her anywhere, on your computer or whatever, and she can just log in to it when she gets WoW installed on her laptop.

You can just start a 14 day free trial and upgrade to regular/TBC on the net.

Cheaper to just buy the WoW Battlechest tho.

Plus another 20 to 30 for TBC, whatever they have it priced at by itself.

You're not getting WoW + TBC for 20 bones im gonna guess.

If you use the recruit a friend thing on the wow website you get 30 free days for your account and they get a 10 day trial. Id assume youd have to have different billing though for the 2 accounts for that to work heh.
