Ok, gonna start this off with a disclaimer.

I don't play WoW much as I'm one of those weirdos that still enjoys EQ and the community it provides.

That being said, I have a Blood Elf Paladin that just hit 42 and has finally grown into the flurry Axe I've been hanging on to for about a year now. I've been hearing a lot about ppm (procs per minute) as a reference for the enchants.

My questions are:

1. Are all the enchants that are proc based PPM procs? Or are there some that would be better suited for the weapon speed on that Axe (1.5)

2. Any suggestions beyond the proc types (I'm also considering one that gives bonuses to my healing)

Like I said I'm not hard core in this game at all...just playing to hang out with some friends, but I've known a lot of you guys since the beginning on Lanys and respect your input and advice on things...so figured I'd run this by you guys and see what suggestions you come up with?

If it helps to know this, I mainly PvE and do instances...also I have no plan to fly through levels or anything, so I figure I'll be using this for a decent while. Also I'm primarily a Prot Specced pally and now working on Reckoning. (not sure if any of this is important info, but in case it was I thought I'd provide it)

Yes, they're all pretty much based on procs per minute. There's a more detailed explanation, but you probably don't care that much. I wouldn't get a +healing enchant because as a prot spec pally you should mainly be tanking. If you must have a static weapon enchant like that, get +spelldamage. It'll be fairly spendy though. I would check out how much crusader costs on your server and get that if you think you'll have the weapon for a while.

Get the fiery weapon enchant.

Yeah, Firey is an evil ass enchant. It's absolutely amazing at the lower levels when you are killing things in 2 or 3 hits because of it.

Yeah I hooked my warrior up with 2 of those DM swords and did fiery on each....mobs dropping left and right.

fiery chants ftw, I lost count with how many of those I have done with my mage

I do have a question though. From what I read Lifestealing has the exact same proc rate as the Fiery does. Also read that it can crit, and even though it does 30 instead of 40 damage, it also heals for that 30.

Is there a reason that Fiery is so much better than that?

Gonna get Fiery tonight, with that many people suggesting it I'm sold...just tryin to educate myself a bit more, hence the question on Lifestealing.

fiery and life stealing both have a proc rate around 6ppm, however life stealing mats cost about 10x what fiery do.

Fiery is mainly so good because it's cheap. It's why I didn't suggest it. You're getting closer to the level range where it's not as amazing as it was. It's a grand twink enchant, but doesn't make nearly as much difference as you approach 60. It's a good choice still, but there are better, IMO, if you have more gold to spend.

Shrug, fiery is good until 60, at which point enchanting weapons is retarded since you'll be burning through them so fast.

True, and the same could be said for any enchants before ~64.

Fiery is 20g towards a much faster leveling grind, toss it on a weapon every ten or so levels up until 50, and you'll still be profitable

as a WoW noob, might I ask how you get the weap enchant? Is this as simple as finding a player whos tradeskill is chanting? If so, what level do they have to be in order to do this? tyty!

Find an enchanter, skill lev 265 to do the chant. Cost ya around 50g depending on your server and if you have mats or not.

Don't shout it, use the auction channel. You can either say "/2 can someone please link the mats to Fiery?" then get the mats from the AH and have someone enchant it (just tip them a few gold) or you can simply say "/2 WTB Fiery Enchant." It's generally easier to already have the mats and just tip someone to enchant your weapon.

tyvm, my rogue hit 20, figure this is a good time to get some dps upgrades.

Fiery is awesome, unless you are leveling a druid.
