What do you all think?

We got the Bear dude down before I had to log (kid is sick). I enjoyed the little bit of time I spent inside..

We only spent a couple hours there ourselves last night, downed the bear boss in time and then eventually found ourselves at the firehawk boss which proved to be an interesting fight.

First impression is that it's a well put together zone with lots of character (love the voices).

We've only downed the bear boss so far but I'm liking it.

Killed the bear boss, got the uh.. Lynx? boss down to around 30%. Pretty neat zone. Bear boss dropped Hunter shoulders as good as Tier5.

The caster shoulders we saw from beating the Bear boss in time were like 2 crit and 5 spelldamage shy of the crafted T6 ones. Similarly, the healing shield we saw from Firehawk was nearly equivalent to the T6 ones as well.

We killed the Eagle Avatar, Firehawk Avatar

Bear dude and a 4th one that I forget

on our first run

had 5th boss to about 30% when we wiped

but it was 1 AM and everyone was tired so we'll probably go back and finish tonight

we took mostly Conquest mains so we could get thru it fairly fast

Not a big fan of those zones, which is why I asked. I spent like 20 levels in STV and grew to hate it. The jungle theme just irks me. I won't be going to Zul'Aman most likely!

How exactly does the "Timed Event" work? Is there an NPC you talk to before your work your way towards a boss that starts it?

Yea, he's right there when you zone in. You talk to him, bang a gong, he gets owned, then you have 20 mins to kill the first boss (there's a timer at the top like you see in Black Morass). Don't expect to do it on your first time there. A few of the pulls are pretty painful.

You can bypass a mjority of the pulls on the first 3 bosses if you take some time to familiarize

the paths on your first run

We're going to be trying ZA this weekend and we've been stressing to people to take it easy and not rush it our first few times through. The extra loot might be nice but I'd rather get our strats down first.

If you get the mojo stick, make sure you don't zone out (it is zonebound). You can use the stick on frogs to turn them into NPCs and even give you a pet named Mojo. They have a chance to turn into a vendor who sells rare patterns as well, I believe.

I am SUCH a pet whore, that would completely rock to get a pet named Mojo. Thanks for the info!

If you do it around people, they will get a roll window for it, so you may want to decide in advance how to handle it. The way it works is, the item drops (the mojo stick is green, BoP) and everyone rolls on it. When you use the stick on a frog, it turns the frog into an NPC (Blood Elf female children are such cuties) and puts a box in front of the NPC. You open the box, which works like a chest, and everyone in range can roll on what is inside it. So unless you decide ahead of time, you could win the stick, shoot the frog, loot the box, and then lose a roll on the vanity pet YOU earned by having someone else outroll you on it.

Remember, don't zone out with the mojo stick or it will disappear (like the books in Kara)

sigh i want to do ZA but my guild refuses to do it, after farming kara for so long gearing people, they do not want to get into another 10 man zone when they could be working on 25 man shit. Kinda sad ( :(

They're dumb.

You will spend your days flailing against the wall that is 25-man content, all for loot that is comparable to what you can get from ZA. Happy trails..

I agree with you 125% man, but no matter what we try to tell them they refuse to do it. Kinda sucks ( Thier view is we beat Gruuls on our first night there, we down void reaver on our 2nd night, mag on our 2nd night, and lurker on our 2nd night. They think we will zip through the 25 man shit. We try to tell them that ZA loot will make it easier but its like beating a dead horse ....

Try explaining to them , that instead of "helping" them conquer 25 man content, there are

items in ZA that are actually better than stuff from

SSC / TK

yah we are working on that, we only off 2 nights a week, got 7 people so far, when we get the last 3 we will start working on it. Only problem is a few folks have rotating work schedules so we will be w/o folks and not have anyone to replace so its goin to be a slow thing.

This instance is crazy fun. Got to the 3rd boss last night (didn't get it down). I think we could've gotten it down but people wanted to get to bed. And no Mojo pet, with zapping frogs, just some trinkets which are similar to the books in Kara.

The look of the zone is awesome. After we banged the gong and the doors opened, I said in vent, "WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK!" because it felt that way. The trash going up to the third boss..they're just crazy. The gauntlets were tough too. Overall? Just had a blast.

The loots we got were some plate boots off boss 1 (no timer bonus loot), and a caster ring off boss numero dos.

If anyone on Uther needs the Executioner enchant, I can do it now. :D

I really enjoy the zone, although it's a pain in my ass figuring out which 10 people can go all the time.

I've still not stepped foot in the zone. Oddly, seen no one seeking people for it either.

Yeah, we have been doing it on an offnight so we don't have enough on to do 2 runs. This has led to some silly drama about spots already, but I think sanity has prevailed.

The real problem seems to be the non-traditional spec'd classes. We always take 2 tanks (one Warrior, one Pally), and 3 healers. That leaves 5 spots to fill. When you start adding a Shadow Priest, or a Feral Druid, or god forbid a Ret Pally, that really can kill the DPS. Having one of those in a raid is ok, two is pushing it big time. With all the AEing that needs to be done, I really think the ideal makeup would include 2 Mages.

This zone seems very much geared toward mages, with the AOE and cc'ing that is necessary. Unfortunately, the one class we lack the most is mage. We only have 1 active one.

But I'm ok with that. People complained about Kara similarly when they were undergeared for it. If you aren't overgeared or incredibly well versed / experienced, you can't rely on B players (either due to spec or skill).

I hate the timed quest. I would prefer that the bosses drop 2 items with the timed quest adding a 3rd.

pro tips for dragonhawk? dps seems to focus on the boss more than the hatchers i can hold agro on like 5-6 birds but 7+ is pushing it and our ranged have no court awareness.
