I check out http://www.gankbang.com every once in a while to check server rankings for hunters on my realm. For all alliance hunters I generally place around 35th and for marksman hunters I'm usually around 14th with 26dps. Today I checked and I'm 3rd overall with 312dps.

I have no idea how this is possible since my guild has down Curator but nothing after that expect for the Chess event and have not even stepped foot into Gruul's. I have the same exact buffs that I generally always have (Aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura).

The only other buff I have that I normally don't is Blessing of Light which shouldn't affect DPS. Is Armory just being buggy I'm sure this will change by tomorrow but it's just a bit odd.

The only things those sites are useful for is notifying you of who is generally close to you in terms of gear. For example, it's interesting to see what other tanks on Skywall are using and where they're at progression-wise, and sites like these help me figure out who they even are.

But otherwise it's useless. Half of the data is inaccurate, some of it seems to take into account buffs, etc.

Besides, why would you look at their dps rating in something like this? It's not actual dps ingame.
