Here's my current armory profile.

http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/chara ... &n=Kuervoh

Self-buffed, I can get to 2040 attack power. Other's have been suggesting to work on getting gems/gear that give crit bonuses. Most of the level 70's in my guild are keyed for Kara but are going to get better geared up before starting any runs.

So for the hunters (out there, what do you find to be more important? Attack power or your crit rating?

I am raiding beast, so I will not comment on marks/survival trees other than to add some suggestion here or there, and that they are signifigantly more difficult to play and manage. At least from my experience. Big numbers are fun, but the mana drain is nasty. I prefer the superior mana conservation of Beast over either of those trees.

These opinions are from a beast mastery point of view.

Really both are critical to being able to perform at a top level as a hunter. Attack power not only benifits you, but your pets damage as well. Crit of course for big damage, as well as keeping the Kill Command going.

Unbuffed im only at 20% crit. I do not have a khorium scope on my gun yet, nor the good shoulder enchant. This will change soon however. I find with 23% to 25% crit, I can do just fine. More comes with better gear of course.

I would suggest you drop jewelcrafting and mining like a bad habit. Take up Leatherworking. The Ebon Netherscale armor is Tier 5 equivalent, if not a touch better in some areas, especially the 3 piece set bonus. You do not need much +hit to cap as a hunter, "9 to 10 percent" so this awesome armor fills that role nicely. Do not just make 1 or 2 pieces. Get all 3. They will go a very long way. Remember also, you do not have to socket armor with its listed gem color. A piece of armor with a red, blue and yellow slot can be socketed with 3 +16 attack power red gems for example.

Your current ranged weapon is way too fast. Do not drop below a 2.7 else you start clipping shots in your rotation. "you do use a shot rotation do you not?" I also do not rely on a shot macro. I do them all by hand. Some people swear by the macro. I personally think its garbage. Best pre kara weapon to get would be a Valanos' Longbow or the exaulted rifle from Honor Hold. Do not bother with a Don Santos, you'll upgrade better in kara eventually. The Crossbow, Gun or Bow all are three fine choices.

Also, you may consider staying with a 4 piece bonus to Beast Lord armor for a while. It's pretty powerful. Use the legs, helm, gloves and sholders. Hunter tier 4 is NOT that impressive other than for looks, and you will get your share of it eventually because it is even less of an upgrade to most classes you'll be competing against on most pieces.

Also, if you are staying marks, get 2 Stelaras axes from Mechanar and put 30 int enchants on them. You get more bang for your buck that way over 15 agi to each.

Honestly with your current loadout I would strongly consider going beast mastery. You just do not have the gear to make marks or survival work properly. Marks is all about mana regen and a huge mana pool to keep a long shot rotation going in conjunction with super crits.

Get yourself a scorpid from Shadowmoon Valey. They are the current flavor of the month. They come with max rank fire resist and last rank of scorpid poison. Train him up with Cobra Reflexes, Avoidance and the max rank of Stamina you can afford. Get Claw if you want. You will not use it much except on poison immune mobs.

At the start of a boss fight, buff yourself to the tits and hit beastial wrath and any attack power trinkets you have. Immediatly send in pet. Keep Claw turned off. This is important. Your pet will need all of its focus to constantly reapply scorpid poison. At the 5th application of scorpid poison, nut your shorts at the astronomically huge warlockish dot tick numbers your pet is pulling off. At last test, this also counted as a poison for sub rogues and their mutilate.

This is subject to future nerf, as people are crying about it in PvP. And as we all know, PvP dictates the direction of PvE now. Fortunatly you can be a badass with just about any pet of your chosing. I used a warpstalker because they become huge under beastial wrath and the shit eating grin excites the ladies. I also have used a ravager, bird, cat, ape, donkey and a squirrel. It doesn't really matter.

That is my input anyway. It is by no means law as a good hunter will shine reguardles of spec.

Here is the link to my armory if you want to look it over.

I recently respecced for expose weakness. I felt I needed to because everyone else went epeen err BM spec.

The crit rate is scary, but luckily we use alot of MDs during fights so it's not too bad (except the beginning).

Myself, I prefer my MM spec with it's high rap and lasting manapool. Fel mana pots are my new friend.

Kuervoh, you also need to work on your +hit rating. At 21 and MM you are doing yourself no favors in a raid. I have +119 and I still get my share of misses on bosses. My armory, I am still in the process of gearing up (this is an alt character) but I am still able to sustain ~450+ DPS on boss fights (my weapon sucks, I keep clipping my autoshot) With a couple of upgrades I will see a substantial increase in DPS

I also went and did the Survival build for my guild.

I enjoy crowd controlling, on the other hand, which is why I opted for it, rather than simply being an expose weakness bot.

I have found that I really like it, and my guild absolutely loves me for Expose Weakness on most fights. Mind you, I stacked haste effects as well. Improved Hawk, along with Rapid Killing 2 and Readiness, plus the Abacus of violent odds.

Here is my armory: http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/chara ... =Valaeclya

I'm working on getting the belt from SSC crafted, or getting the belt from Heroic SLabs from Murmur, whichever.

Looks like this is going to be my pre-Kara setup for now. Got my crit and hit rating up but even though my ranged AP dropped about 100 points but it seems fine to me.

Any other suggestions? I would really like to replace my boots. :(

Outland Striders, Heroic Ramparts for your boots, and get a Thick Netherscale Breastplate made.

Nibl -

Get:

Beast Lord set

Sky-Hunter Swift Boots

Hourglass of the Unraveller

Abacus of Violent Odds

Sonic Spear

That'll get you started. All of those drop from single group, non-heroics.

Here is a link to my profile. Haven't done any raiding besides Kara and I've had shitty luck with drops there.

Helm - Stalker's Helmet of Second Sight (Shadowmoon Valley quest chain), Beast Lord Helm (Mechanar, Pathaleon the Calculator)

Neck - Mag'hari Hero's Insignia (Nagrand Quest Chain)

Shoulders - Beast Lord Mantle (Steam Vaults Warlord Kailthresh), Towering Mantle of the Hunt ( Botanica, The first boss, the guard captain. I forget her name)

Back - Vengeance Wrap (Crafted, Tailor), Cloak of the Inciter (Shadow Labyrinth, Blackheart the Inciter), Cloak of Malice (Shattered Halls, Grand Warlock Netherkurse)

Chest - Thick Netherscale Breastplate (Crafted, Leatherworker), Beast Lord Curiass (Botanica, Warp Splinter), Laughing-Skull Battle Harness (Black Morass or Dark Portal, whichever name, Temproous) Felstalker Breastplate (Crafted, Leatherworker)

Bracers - Felstalker Bracers (Crafted - Leatherworker)

Gauntlets - Felfury Gauntlets (Crafted - Blacksmith), Beast Lord Handguards (Shattered Halls, Warchief Kargath Bladefist), Ar'tor's Mainstay (Shadowmoon Valley Quest Chain)

Belt - Felstalker Belt (Crafted, Leatherworker), Telaari Hunting Girdle (Shattered Halls, Grand Warlock Netherkurse), Blessed Scale Girdle (Sha'tar, Revered, Rep reward)

Legs - Mag'hari Huntsmans Leggings (Nagrand Quest Chain), Beast Lord Legguards (Steam Vaults Warlord Kailthresh), Scaled Greaves of Patience (Durnholde, 2nd Boss, forget his name. I think Captain Skarloc, not sure)

Boots - Sky-Hunter Swift Boots (Sethekk Halls first boss, don't remember the name)

Rings - Band of Anguish (Shadowmoon valley Quest Chain), Slayer's Mark of Redemption (Shadowmoon Valley quest chain), Kaylaan's Signet (Netherstorm Quest Chain Aldor Only)

Trinkets - Abacus of the Violent Odds (Mechanar, Pathaleon the Calculator) Hourglass of the Unraveller (Black Morass, Temprous)

Weapon - Sonic Spear (Shadow Labyrinth, Murmur)

Ranged Weapon - Marksman's Bow (Thrallmar Exalted reputation reward), Wrathtide Longbow (Heroic Steam Vaults, Warlord Kailthresh)

The Nagrand Quest Chain mentioned for the necklace and the leggings are the same. it is a long, drawn out quest that will unlock the Great Mother's words, and her quest chain. In order to open her quest, you need to have done all of the Quests involving the Ogres (Except Cho'war the Pillager. he doesn't matter.) These are the quests directly involving Lantressor of the Blade. You will also have to do everything involved with the Murkbloods at Sunspring Post. Killing their leader, killing the normal mobs, escorting out the Mag'hari Captive, and killing the Murkblood Invaders for their plans. Also, you will need to go to Alturius the Suffering, the Demon Hunter in Nagrand, and do his quest chain involving the two Forge Camps. Once all of those are done, Garrosh will direct you to the Great mother. Complete her quest Chain for the leggings and the necklace.

For the Band of Anguish - The quest chain starts off in Shadowmoon Valley with the quest "Beseiged". Complete it, and continue following the Guard Captain's Orders. it will take to you the Deathforge, and then Invasion Point: Cataclysm.

For the Slayer's Mark of Redemption - This starts with the quest "Path of Conquest" from the Overlord in Shadowmoon Village. Follow the quest chain to its completion with killing Giants near Eclipsion Point for the ring.

Stalker's Helmet of Second Sight - Next to the Inn in Shadowmoon Valley is an Undead Lady. She asks for Ever-Burning Ash. Follow her quest chain to recieve your helmet. I suggest going against the socket colors for this and popping 3 red agility ot AP gems in the sockets, in place of blue socketed gems for only 8AP.

Kaylaan's Signet - This quest chain starts in Netherstorm. The Aldor need you to shut down the Manaforges, and whatever little other bits of stuff they want done around the areas. Once they are complete, they will tell you of Socrethar, an Eredar behind the legion's forces in Netherstorm. Complete this quest for the Signet. This ring is identical to the Slayer's Mark of Redemption, which is just barely better than the Band of Anguish. The difference is 2 agility. Don't worry about it if you are Scryer.

Ar'tor's Mainstay - These are gloves gained during the Cipher of Damnation quest chain. The Shaman near the Overlord in Shadowmoon Village gives the start of this quest. Simply follow it until you get Borak's Charge, and complete that quest. The end result of this quest is a bow that, depending on your viewpoint, could be comparable to Valanos' Longbow as well, depending on your specc.

This is everything I could think of off the top of my head to help you.

Yeah, but like I said, it'll get you started. You could go for the desolation set which is built more for pvp than the beast lord's, but then you'll have to run heroic underbog (or is it slave pens?) for the shoulders.

I plan on getting the stalker helm at least. I'm very close to getting epic boots/belt from honor. I'm like 8000/12000 honored Thrallmar and still not revered with Cenarion Expedition. i need some eots marks this weekend. every slabs group i get has trouble with the inciter. we zerged him down literally with 4 runbacks in the last group i had.. the same group where the rogue went to get pizza for 15 minutes. I lucked out and got beast lord gloves off the warlord dude.

Heh, I'm in the process of gearing up my Blood Elf Hunter the same way. I might make him my main eventually. I like Horde Side better than alliance. More community, etc.

Now if I could just get that damn Path of Conquest stuff started and find a group for it. I have the other quest chains done.

I also had felfury Gauntlets crafted man. 3 Primal might and 10 Felsteel was easy to come by, then just pay for the nether and slap a couple red AP gems in it, and I was good to go.

It's a so-so heroic. It takes really more a mage and a hunter for CC than 2 hunters, because of the sirens fearing. That way you can always sheep at least the siren, or one of the two sirens.

Polymorph is a superior CC in this sense because you don't have to drag them back and risk them fearing. You can just cast it.

The first boss is a bitch, but that's about it. The second and third bosses should be much easier. Really, packs with multiple sirens in them as trash are harder than the 2nd and 3rd bosses imo.

so i got my crit to 22 percent and attack power to 1427 but my hit went to shit.

aside from scryer enchant, maxing out LW and getting nethers for ebon netherscale, and replacing conquerer's band with slayer's ring, are there any easy options? I know of one guy with felfury gauntlets recipe it's just a matter of farming $$ for mats.

my warrior is 58 and moving up, not sure if i want him to be prot or just a pvparms guy.

Easy options for what slot if any in particular?

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... &n=Rhoubhe

There is my Blood Elf for now. He's working on the gear list I posted above. Tell me what slots in particular you're looing at easier options for.

Edit: Nevermind. I just realized what you meant. Your belt is fine. The veretan's works for both bracers and belt. For chest, get the Thick Netherscale Breastplate made by a leatherworker.

As far as rings go, if you have the bone wastes buff a lot, you can run shadow labyrinth and use 50 shards to get the Band of the exorcist.

2nd Edit: The plus hit rating is why I chose some of my gear vs some of yours. The Mag'hari Huntsmans Leggings (Hope you didn't vendor them), the Cloak of the Inciter vs Cloak of Malice, etc.

That is easy enough to change though.

Just saying to check out some of my gear for options that will add more + hit rating to your build. I get to a little over 2K RAP self buffed on Rhoubhe, and 19% crit. That is ok, for now. I'm not capped on Leatherworking yet, and that will change when i am.

I also have 125 hit rating. So, just check it out, could help you some.
