I know they changed how the guards react, so help me out if you know the answer. In area 52 I get attacked as soon as I land, but this is out of guard range. I blind the guy and sprint into the city. The guards net me, other guy comes up and both him and guards kill me. Then guards don't kill him. I never attack or do anything aggro in guard area. Why is this, and how do you avoid it? I'm thinking maybe being the 1st person to come into guard area while "in combat" turns them on you maybe?

Any aggressive action will gain the ire of the guards. You blinded the guy, which flagged you for attack when you ran to the guards...I think.

Why wouldn't the guards kill the other PC after he attacked as well? I believe that is the question.

Ok, I see that now, and I don't know the answer. I think your theory may be right in that they don't want to reward people for running and hiding behind guards to avoid a fight that began outside of guards. But my experience looking for fights outside of BB has been both of you go down to the guards in that scenario.

Its been my experience that the guards only attack the aggressor. If you are the defender you have cart blanche to do what you will.

It looks like the other guy was helping the guards, thus being an aggressor. It's not like Drajeck attacked some dude in Gadget and was wondering why the guards didn't kill that dude. He's obviously hostile to them already, which may come into play. They may consider you similar to a mob that enters the city. Anyone can assist the guards on killing a mob in the city and not have to worry about getting attacked by the guards in return.

That's about right. The guards ignore other people if they're already focused on a target. If a different guard wasn't agro'd on you and they were closer they'd attack them, then the other guards would likely assist after you die. You can be out of range of the guards and perform a hostile action on someone within guard range and they'll leave you be as well.

They are also probably immune to vanish/fade/feint/feign as well.
