Apparently they created level 1 gnomes and made them fall from the sky somehow across a few live servers.

Fuck China, but still impressive.

Someone mentioned that they have a writeup about it on their site, but I'd not recommend going there. It has the taint of keylogger to it.

If you're running every executable file you see on the internet on a lark, you've got bigger problems than keyloggers on your system.

They install themselves through scripts on the page, not executables. I use NoScript and AdBlockPlus plugins for Firefox, but no harm in being cautious.

What Jeka said, which is why in one instance (not here in this thread) I've removed an URL from a post (the paypal scam one) because you can get plague just from visiting a link. Or could with an IE security issue, not entirely sure if that's been resolved yet or what.

Anyway far better safe than sorry, and I appreciate Givin not putting in the link for that reason.

As far as the post goes...wow. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm also getting a lot more gold spam than usual which pisses me off.

:cussing:

I tried to find a pic of a chinese guy in a borg costume so I could write "WE WILL ADAPT" on it.

I failed.

For those of you getting a lot of gold spam, download the mod SpamSentry. It blocks tells, stuff in general chat, trade chat, say, yells, mail, you name it.

They broke it with the 'report spam' update. Now you can click on the name and report it without a mod. The 'report' feature on SpamSentry is broken, it won't allow you to send a GM report for spam. QQ

I loved SpamSentry it worked much better. I suppose you could still use it for blocking, but it won't report anything.

Correct I use it just for blocking. There are tons of others that will report it. I never used the report feature on spamsentry. It was to annoying because the list filled too quickly.
