That's almost as good as the Hello Kitty UI I saw.

What mod are you using to get all your tool bars into the center bottom like that Van? That's the setup I want.

Yeah, I like that style. So, does bartender work with Xperl, or in place of it? I just started with Xperl last night and things are a mess right now. It's taking some work understanding how to set up all my fields.

xperl is unit frames, bartender is a bar mod.

I use agunitframes, though I'm about to convert to pitbull.

let us know how your conversion from AG to Pitbull goes.

I had tried Pitbull when I changed from CT to mostly ACE. I have AG, bartender, FuBar, and Elk buffbars (plus the various raiding required mods)

I am having a problem with proximo not working correctly. Has anyone ever used this and had a problem that they were able to solve? The problem is that no targets appear anymore.

When was the last time you updated proximo?

After 2.4 proximo was broken, and broken *horribly* -- it's been updated several times now.

Quick, find the Pally!

What I have to deal with while tanking Hyjal trash. Funny that when I snapped this SS, the only thing on CD was Holy Shield. I am such a slacker.

Empty buttions were/are for hotkeying quest items for dailies for fast clicking, since Autobar was broken and I haven't checked to see if it is fixed yet.

After the release 3 patch broke all my addons AND wowace got rolled into Curse client, I basically deleted my interface folder and started over.

Went through and added the most popular addons.

xperl - very nice (better than pitbull which was better than ag_unitframes)
bartender 4 - easy hotkey bars
omen - standard
healer something - left and right click heals on groups
xloot - yes autoloot is in the interface, this is better
auctioneer - this is a beast addon that needs taming
squeenix - square maps are better !

With the curse downloaded addons have a little wotlk icon if they're compatible.

I wish Dr. Damage was working, I like seeing my numbers on the hotkeys.

Curse client sucks ass.

Try WoWMatrix. Works very much like Ace used to.

I don't know if it's the curse client or the way curse packages addons, but some addons that you install don't get installed with their dependencies in place.

Perhaps your experience was different than mine, but the three attempts I made to use it gave me broken/mismatched (and frequently out of date) addons. I uninstalled it in disgust at that point and had resigned myself to just manually updating addons when a guildmate mentioned WoWMatrix to me.

WoWMatrix, first shot. Everything done in a quick and timely manner and has been reliable every time I've run it.

wowmatrix is the way to go. wowaceupdater used to be the best, but not anymore. it's issues w/ vista prohibit that.

I've never even heard of these guys, let alone WoWMatrix. What kind of street cred do they have? The interface does look a lot better than the curse updater.

Givin, other than Bartender and Omen, what are you running on your pally UI screenshot?

BTW, WowMatrix has been known in the Mac community for a little while now, as it's one of the few updaters you can use with a Mac.

skycrasher : I never had any issues with wowaceupdater on vista. the only problem with it now is that... it doesn't work because there's no backend for it to work WITH.

When my guildmate mentioned it, I did some searching (as I'd not heard of it either). So far, most of the complaints are that the advertising in the window is for gold and that the system takes addons and stores them in a central repository that the creators of the add ons may not have given permission for it to be distributed from. There were some complaints a while back where people thought they'd been hacked because it had keyloggers, but it turned out to be the flash thing.

Other than 2 complaints I've mentioned, I've not seen much else. Given the option between manually doing it or beating my head against curse again, I've elected to try it out. Been using it since Ace went tits up and not had a problem yet.

really? i was never able to get it to work since it was some weird app install (thru ie?) and didn't have access to write (even w/ admin permissions) to the program files folder. only works if it was installed in a non-standard loc, which mine is... f:\games\pc\wow

if i try anywhere in C i'd get errors trying to patch, or to update my addons. ;(

The Curse updater would see Warhammer, but not my custom WoW folder in Vista. It was a bitch to get it set manually.

I mainly use the Curse addon because they are a reliable source, and now that the Ace guys are working with them it seemed like the place to go. The WoWmatrix interface and setup is far superior I think.

To be fair, I gave Curse another shot this weekend.

Did a complete rebuild of my add ons from Curse client (deleted WTF files, etc). Didn't have half the issues I saw before, but it still seems to be installing out dated mods. There are a few mods that it says are the same version as what WoWMatrix would install, but the curse installed one doesn't work and the Matrix one does. So not sure what is up with that.

Wowace updater was pretty well done. It boggles the mind that when Curse and Ace merged, they could not get a better handle on the updating. I tried the curse one, and it did not seem to update all the mods, took fucking forever to do...not a lot. I also noticed that when you "uninstalled" a mod, it just took it off it's update list and didn't delete a single file out of the addons dir.

Wowmatrix is superior in every way, IMO.

WowMatrix only has ads on its download page where you update your addons. It doesn't do anything nefarious to send you additional adverts while you play.

Yeah. Whatever it was, it got me. The only suspect mod that people have fingered that I use has been Carbonite. But I know tons of people that use it that haven't been touched.

I've heard Quest Helper, Recout and Carbonite named as culprits. I'm more inclined to think it was the auto updater got fucked with.

Ah well. In 13 years of gaming I've never been hit once. First time for everything I suppose. I've survived netbus bullshit, all the worm scares on 95/98. Bound to happen eventually.

they don't think it's the updater because people who updated w/o wowmatrix / curse etc got hit too. that sucks, i was hacked maybe 6 months ago and it was lame, but blizzard is very adept at fixing hacks it appears.

Watching people follow the paper trail on this has been pretty interesting. It happening during a holiday time with limited tech support and from looking over forums and such so many people got nailed.

The email tied to this account has never been accessed on this PC, and no email change notification emails were in it, altho I suspect those were deleted when it was compromised.

I can't even guess what addon caused it that I use. I never use the ones with installers "other than Curse" so that's not it.

Do you have questhelper? Please tell me you don't.

If so, don't update it or use the curse updater for any reason.

(ps : yet another reason why the blizzard authenticator is a decent idea)

My account was unbanned at 3:30 today.

My shaman was untouched, except for the sunwell faction neck and a ring and trinket I cant even remember. Rest of the gear was pvp so it couldn't be sold. The weird thing is, they removed/sold my middle bag in my bank, the 4th one over. The only thing it contained was TBC primals. They even sold the bag. No other bags were touched.

My paladin was logged out in front of the bank in shat, looks like they were rummaging through bags. Probably got them as they were going through this char. Nothing bothered.

My death knight which had a FORTUNE on it was unmoved, and I logged back in mounted where I logged off.

Here is the weird thing. My bank mule was picked clean. All my light leather, medium leather, heavy leather, rough through solid stone and copper through mithril ore, all gone. They took all my bank bags. But they left all the shit in the mailbox which included WotLK gems, ore and other shit.

But they got my copper ore.

I think I was hacked by the dumbest people on the planet. It's like what Tom Arnold says in True Lies. What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?

Here's my terrible ass ui. It's still kind of a cluster but it does ok. The debuff thing on my quartz bar is kinda obsolete now that I'm using the much better scorchio, so I should probably turn that off.

Ah, didn't realize you weren't on Alleria (or whatever it was called) anymore.

Illidan is fucking terrible. Queues every night and now we've cancelled raids two nights in a row because it takes 5-10 seconds to cast an instant cast spell. I applaud the decision to move servers.

We had 4 DK's on a 25 man naxx today....it was a sad day. Sadly I was also the ONLY shaman (resto at that), and only god damn class to use mail castor drops and of course...not a damn one dropped in 2 full wings. That being said.....daddy got his fist epic which from Max tonight! I wasn't even paying attention and almost forgot to roll on it lol. Not a single chain/shaman drop outside of fist of 6 bosses defies the gods themselves!

Sorry to hear about that shit Given....when I came back to WoW i had 2 accounts that I was going to play and both were fucking banned for allegedly being used in fraudulent activities /boggle. I wouldn't know how to fucking cheat in WoW if I wanted to...im still getting used to easy mode add on's that tell me what time it is!

We picked up the blizzard authenticators after you and a bunch of other people I know in game and out got hacked within like 2 weeks. For 5 bucks or whatever it was, it is nice to have. I never really have had someone else log me in, so I'm not too worried about that aspect of it.
