I think we had one of these a while back, or one is buried somewhere but I don't give a fuck. I will start a new one. I am looking for new ideas for my UI anyways. I feel its way too cluttered.

Sticky please.

One question I have, Givin, is why you use that big buff graphic mod. That seems to take up alot of unnecessary space. Also, what is "Omen" on your fuBar (ok, that's 2 questions)?

Post subject:  Re: Post your UI

Omen is the ACE replacement for KTM. It's still in beta, but thus far it is tons more accurate than KTM has even came close to being. It also uses a fraction of the resources also. Updatable through the ACE windows updater too, so I dont have to go to slow ass sites like Cursed or wowinterface to hunt for new releases. You can see it above the Elekk in my screenshot.

I like Elkans Buff Bar simply for the countdown bars it provides. Easier for me to keep track of when stuff expires as opposed to a small icon with a timer under it. It isn't updated any longer as far as I know, and it really needs a GUI setup option. It's a pain in the ass to resize because you have to enter numerical values for height and width.

Since that picture, my UI shrank considerably. layout is more or less the same, but for some reason I had UI Aspect Ratio set all the way to the right, making everything huge. I hate autobar now with a passion and that will probably get the axe when I wake up and put pots and whatnot on hotkeys.

The obstructive-seeming bars in the middle of the screen are a toggle (I turn them on and off with a hotkey) - they are spells I cast semi-frequently but don't need on my hotbars for combat. Also, I'm in a group but you probably can't tell; I turn on a small Grid window when I care what's going on with the rest of the party.

Some people think four simultaneous chat windows is too much, but I think four is just right.

Woah. Elidrin, how did you make your Elkanos buffbar not gay looking. And where did you get the Fubar plugin? Is it being made under another name now?

Givin, I'm using his beta buff bars. You can change the bar texture, which I changed to use the one quartz casting mod uses. It's called LiteStep.tga I believe. The fubar plugin for Elk I assume you're referring to is just standard with his beta mod.

edit: Pitbull I think also has that texture.

Further clarification: I believe the original mod was called ElkBuffBar and the beta one is called ElkBuffBars(plural).

It looks like a lot of you are using the same mod to change your stat bars, group member bars, etc. What mod is it?

If you mean party frames, I use Pitbull, and probably other people use AG_Unit Frames.

Fin,

What mod are you using for your action bars? Does the mod allow you to resize them?

I haven't done much UI customization save for a loc and a couple of hunter mods but I'm liking the stuff I'm seeing here.

Post subject:  Re: Post your UI

The mod is TrinityBars http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6391-TrinityBars.html.

Yes I can resize/space and add/remove buttons (that is actualy 3 hotbars with 23 buttons on each).
I guess I could have made it 1 hotbar with 3 rows of 23 buttons... Oh well.

What I like about it is not having a frame and the key config mode when enabled you just over your cursor over a hotkey and press a key on your keyboard and it bind that hotkey, no stupid menu with thousand of hotkey to search in. Be sure to turn off hotkey bind mode before you play tho lol, or it will get messy hehe.

I'm getting the following error when trying to run Pitbull.

Interface\AddOns\ag_UnitFrames\ag_UnitFrames.lua:63: AceHook-2.1: Attempt to hook a non-existant function "SecurePartyHeader_Update"

I have all other mods disabled and I'm still getting the error. Google searches came up short. Any ideas what I could check?

The error message you stated is generated from ag_unitframes. So if you're really trying to run Pitbull, I would make sure ag_unitframes is disabled.

I actually removed the Pitbull addon from the folder and disabled all other mods. In my last post I meant to say AG_Unitframes instead of Pitbull. Still getting the error.

Changed mine up a bit:

I switched from AG UnitFrames to PitBull and I must say I like it. We also had the guild switch to Omen and I like the results of that as well. The next step is to get everyone to switch to Violation, but for now, DamageMeters still seems to be a little better with the way it syncs and stuff. I'd imagine Violation will get to that point, though. Since I am still Hemo, I am not that worried about the Damage Meters anyway. :P

Author:  Solanthious [ Thu Jul 05, 2007 12:19 PM ]
Post subject:  Re: Post your UI

So far that we've seen, the best Damage Meter type program out there is Sw Stats, I think it's the last non ace mod I'm using. It's much more accurate then DM is, simply because it auto syncs from the raid channel.

Author:  Neesha the Necro [ Thu Jul 05, 2007 1:41 PM ]
Post subject:  Re: Post your UI

SW Stats is cool, but the main reason I wanted to switch away from DM to begin with was to make updating (with the Ace Updater) easier. It would be nice to never have to go to Curse or any other mod site again.

how did you get the debuff icons below the Target frame? I was puttering with Pitbull but I wasn't seeing it and it was annoying having them hanging waaaaaaaay off to the right. So I went back to ag_unit for the time being.

Thanks for the tip on Omen, though.

Post subject:  Re: Post your UI

Well, the menu for Auras has "Side" which under the player frame looks like it does what I am wondering about. But under target, the "Side" menu is greyed out. I'm fiddling again to see if I can figure out why.

Got it. Strangely, mine will only let me edit the de/buff position when IN combat. :p
