I've lost my confidence in EQ2 fixing PvP. The expansion looks fun but nothing that says it's going to make it better after 3 months.

Vanguard well.. I won't even mention my thoughts now on it.

I'm going to pick up WoW (doing the 14 day trial now) and start playing. Where's the cool place to be? I play almost every evening and weekend and looking for some casual players and some raiding.

Just let me know... what's cool to play btw???

Take care,
Muli

I really don't think Vanguard is going to be baaaaad, but it's certainly not going to deliver what they said it was going to deliver. And it's definitly going to be better then wow.

Oryx is on Lightbringer, Horde side. Vita is on Uther, Alliance side. Riders of the Apoc are on Shattered Hand, Alliance side. That's about all I know.

Nah Vanguard probably won't be that bad but I would like grab a hold of a game that will have some longevity and fun.

Anyone know where Mithril Web and Second Covenant are?? Conquest is somewhere... I'm going to have to go through my EQ Guilds Favorites ... i'll have to knock the dust off of that folder first though. :P

Also, you get just a 10-day pass and then buy a full subscription? Amazon sells them for a couple of dollars or am I forced to buy the 19.88 eventually?? What's the cheapest way to go for a poor married guy?

Thanks!!

Take care,
Muli

I think some of us are on Duskwood. Hit me up 56 Shaman named Gaven. I think the others are on alliance side though.

Too many people wanted to do different things in MW, between alliance/horde and pvp/pve. We have a small group on Onyxia (PvP Horde), but there is no real MW presence in WoW anymore. Elune (PvE alliance) still has the highest concentration of former members though, if you want to play somewhere with friendly faces.

We're a friendly group on Onyxia too, but we plan on rerolling to a new server with the expansion to try and compete with some server 1sts (PvP wise). Rerolling usually isn't attractive to people, so it's better to be up front about it.

Wow has some drawbacks, but overall it's the best game I've ever played. I think the design team has done a great job of making every class different in playstyle, and still fairly balanced. Welcome aboard and have some fun.

There are some Bears of Oboo on Uther as well, although I don't think they are the old EQ folks.

Xolar and Myself were looking to play to learn the ropes then we wanted to reroll with teh expansion as well for some Pvp. Could you keep us informed and you can count us in!

I plan on being a warrior myself and i think Xolar was thinking of being a Warlock.

Any suggestions? or ideas? Also, would we be making a guild and such? Should be fun. We should all do this and dominate some peeps!

Take care,
Muli

Sure, I'll let you know what server we pick when they post the new ones for the expansion. Warrior and warlock are both a lot of fun to play and both do well in group PvP (well, warlocks always do well).

We will definately have a guild, and it seems like all the old gang is ok with using Mithril Web again. There are enough of us that there will be a very solid PvP team, but with our recruitment restrictions, we will never hit a large raid instance. The new 10 mans are very plausable though.

Recruiting Restrictions?? How tough are they exactly??

In regards to PvP, raiding/groups who is the better tank?? Warrion/Paladin.

Especially in duoing/trio

Thanks for letting us know!

Take care,
Muli

You have to be friendly and respectful to others, both in and out of guild. Not exactly a stellar requirement, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to get enough people that fit it to raid. Even if you come across a few, they have to want to be in a guild that isn't raiding yet. Players that want to raid usually join a guild that is already raiding. Makes sense, but it also perpetuates the cycle of not raiding for guilds like us.

I never worry about what we can raid or do though. Just play with people you like playing with, and do whatever that group can do effectively. That's how we ended up focusing on PvP.

mul all I am going to say is if you haven't played wow be prepared for the average player to be the equivlant of the bottom 10-15% of players you ever met in EQ. Most are selfish beyond all belief, have little concept of working in effecient well oiled groups and refuse to have some one lead them. (still willing to bet the average wow player is 5-10 yrs yonger then eq was).

As far as characters......warriors if extremely geared have the potential of putting some insanse dps, or if wanted are the tradional "best" tanks even though a druid can do fine in average groups if he isn't totally void of ability. One of my two mains was a extremely geared warrior and the joy of killing people so fast in pvp with your charges etc or going to groups and being the tank and top dps etc is a real nice change from old school eq ideas of a warrior. Plus you keep alot busier then in eq, you typically have a host of mobs to tank opposed to the eq CC mobs and kill one at a time.

Warlocks......haven't looked recently but before expansion they were pound for pound the most forimable foes in PVP (from the standpoint of rock/paper/scisscor, if skill and gear is taken out of the equation they can simply kill more classes more frequently then anyone else) (and god please no OMGZ I OWN WARLOCKS SO IM BETTER IN PVP bs plz, OVERALL they do have more advantages against more classes then anyone else....not to many people with real understanding of the gaming mechanics will argue that).

That being aside from the initial warlock expansion specs......they looked to become even more overpowered but again I haven't kept up to speed.

Warriors and paladins both have advantages in PvP and PvE. I would suggest the warrior only because if you are rolling horde on a new server, there will be a glut of paladins and a shortage of warriors due to it being the 1st time possible to be a horde paladin.

Sheesh... I don't know if I can continue my discussion or not under this topic with that sig.

Thanks for the post Turbo that really helped me out in what to expect. I've played EQ1 to EQ2 and that's it. I'm definetely new to this whole WoW idea.

The guild requirements seem great. I'm really looking forward to it. Some fun and challenge has desperately been needed in the games I have played. I like the warrior idea, seems fun. What would be a great class to go with a warrior in PvP since Xolar and myself like to duo until we geat groups / raids and at times play odd hours? I just know nothing comparatively in regards to classes.

Thanks again guys... I hope we get a lot of peeps together for this.

Muli

I'd reroll a healing class and join yins. Most likely a priest.

Keep me updated on what PVP server you guys are going to roll on. I think it'd be fun if we could get alot of the old school Lanys people together on a server under one guild.

After watching that video, all I can say is that she'd better milk it while she can, because time and gravity are not going to be kind to those.

Yeah.. the chick looks nice and all but, I agree she better milk this thing now. She's cute and built like girl out of most people's dreams but, in 10 years I'm not sure what she'll have to do.

I know one thing by checking out the video... she definetely can't dance. I guess she doesn't have to though...

I think i'm just bitter because she's derailed my thread... :(
