To prevent the cataclysm and defeat the forces of chaos, players must journey through time portals to the greatest moments in EverQuest history. From the founding of Qeynos to the battle of Bloody Kithicor, players will be called upon to safeguard history and ensure that events unfold without interference from the gods of Discord.

BTW, I fought in the battle of bloody kithicor on the Rathe when it was a GM event, I certainly hope they don't relive that horrid experience. ;P

(granted, my ranger's corpse ended up duped, so I doubled my Rubicite in one night, it was rad)

I knew someone would say that.

It'd be pretty silly to assume that the concept of a game letting you go back and experience "old lore" stuff is something WoW came up with.

Name an MMO or standard RPG that's done it before.

The closest I can think of is Chrono Trigger, but it's not really the same in execution.

When we did Bloody Kithicor I still had those instant complete heal monk gloves. The GMs ported me out because I was disrupting the event, and they started doing zonewide death touches.

I guess I could try to get a list or something, but just off the top of my head, wasn't the entire premise of the end of Planes of Power the idea that you went back in time to prevent Zebuxoruk's imprisonment or something?

When you faught the gods in Time B the final battle was Quarm and we as mortal release Zebuxoruk's when we win but Druzzil Ro would pop in and stop it every time and reset time.

The PS2 version wasn't EQ, it was just based on EQ.

Quote:
EverQuest Online Adventures is set in the fictional world Norrath 500 years prior to the original EQ in what the game designers have called the "Age of Adventure". The world features many places familiar to fans of the original and most of the differences were explained in the lore of EverQuest.

The gameplay focuses on character advancement, environment combat, quests, exploration, grouping, and socializing. It also contains a simple dueling system for 1 v. 1 player action (not counting player pets), but it has had many criticism and has been involved in many item duping glitches.

There are fifteen playable classes, and ten races.

Classes include Cleric, Druid, Shaman, Enchanter, Wizard, Alchemist, Necromancer, Magician, Bard, Ranger, Rogue, Monk, Paladin, Shadowknight, and Warrior.

Races consist of Dwarves, Elves, Dark Elves, Human (Eastern and Western), Gnome, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian, Erudite, and Halfling.

I even remember them stating that prior to launch.

Yeah, I played it though ;p

(they sent me a free copy!)

It was nothing like everquest. Nothing felt the same, and it was more like... well, if you took eye of the beholder and made it multiplayer.
