I just recently fired up my account again, I got some evils on mistmoore still where a few other people play. I made a guy on blackburrow too where I saw MW plays, talked to Tardaan a little bit last night. Who else is in the mix?

I might play again, was thinking of waiting for rise of kunark tho. But might go and buy Faydwer.

I play, but very pro casual for now. Making a high elf shadowknight, but it seems SKs are pretty shunned nowadays for whatever reason. Been reading forums.

Weird, SKs looked like a fun class to play. At least the at low levels.

Well, they offered a free trial to us VG players who hadn't tried EQ2 yet, so I went ahead and started playing.

Hell, all of the expansion packs and stuff for free? Who'd turn that down? Anyways - I'm absolutely loving it at level 22 after a week or so, playing a defiler on Blackburrow.

The only complaint I've had is not enough players at the lower levels, and way way too much travel time. But, the graphics are awesome at Highest Quality - it's almost as good as VG, with much fewer bugs.

Givin - where are you playing at?

I'm on Butcherblock, got a little bit of every class. Its a shame not more people play EQ2, it really is a great game.

I actually started playing in the free trial too and am enjoying it a lot. I have a ranger on Butcherblock named.. Intin.

I'm on butcherblock as are a few of my wow friends. Have not played in about a month tho. Fun game, gigantic potential but just not enough playerbase. Getting one group as a healer in 32 levels, and not even seeing people lfg turned me off fairly quick.

It also takes WAY too long to get anywhere and the quest system, even with the eqmap mod drives me nuts its so utterly vague.


I've got 2g of ram, a 640 meg pcie card and an athlon x64 4200+ cpu and the game runs like choppy dogshit in town and waits till I'm like 5 feet from a monster to fully render it. Gnolls for example are all white until I get almost within melee range, and then BOOP! they magically grow colored fur and armor. The whole "render re-render re-render" crap as you get closer to something totally ruins the atmosphere for me.

I have 2 computers running it. Both E6300's overclocked to 2.8GHz with 2GB of PC-6400 DDR2. One has an 8800GTS 640MB the other 8600GT with 256MB. I have to say running at just "quality" and not highest or anything they run absolutely silky smooth no matter the environment. Maybe a chop here or there as I enter a particularly crowded area, but definitely not poor performance.

i have a 62 necro and a 70 warden over on crushbone, i loved the game but got tired of playing it hwem all of my friends went back to wow. Its a great game just wish i had more folks to play with.

I don't know why SK's get a bad rap, I group regularly with one and he kicks ass. Part of the problem may be that a lot of people just don't know how to play their class (and not just SK's). We're able to clear the Acadachism (including D'vinn) with just a SK, Monk, Assassin and Troubadour (all lev 70) in under 20 minutes (the last fight is rough without a healer, but the SK does a lot of self-heal/reaver).

I thought they merged servers awhile back? Maybe they should do it again if the server pops are low.

EQ2 had huge potential - I think I just started playing to early in the game's history and didn't deal with the huge game altering changes they seemed to make every 2 weeks.

Honestly, of all the MMORPGs I have played, I would have to say eq2 was the best - they just needed to get their shit together and quit messing with stuff.

also, if anybody wants a 40something cleric / 50 provisioner account for cheap - hit me up =) I would love to unload this shit - I has the DoF expansion - I will even mail out the disks.. I just wanna recoup my losses on the game disks - so maybe 60 bucks for the whole package?

You can get every expansion they have thus far, minus the 3 downloadable additional adventure packs "which aren't neccessary" for 40 dollars if you buy the retail box for Echoes of Faydwar. Or buy it from Direct2Drive.

I grabbed the one off direct2drive, and you get all the little pre-order crap with it too like a pet monkey and a pet whirlygig or whatever which was kinda neat.

Yeah, but with my shit you get the vintage dvd discs - yup.. and a gold everquest coin - and a monkey, and some other random shit they gave me thats in my 1 room room.
